I think there's a difference in taking up for the cause instead of playing the victim role. I'd be far more respectful of Sarah Palin if she was proactive about it instead of just giving us lip service. Get involved with something like the Special Olympics or another group instead of whining that a few morons made stupid statements about her child. Rise above it and show that that you can be a legitimate force in the rights of the physically and mentally disabled. She'd gain far more credibility then making ludicrous statements about "death panels".

Perhaps that is her way of protecting syndrome children by bringing them into the discussion about health care? As to 'where do they fit into the scheme'?
I don't fault her for bringing her child into the discussion of healthcare, it's a legitimate concern.
She may be 'campaigning' for herself and being 'proactive' for the down's cause at the same time.

I wouldn't fault her for bringing her son into the healthcare discussing if she was saying something other then liberals wanted her to abort and such. Talk about the productive lives a downs child can have. Educate people instead of focusing on the negativity of a handful of people. People by in large are very supportive of her choice to have her son. Actions speak louder then words.

I don't fault her either for protecting & bringing Down's children into a "discussion" about health care.
However when she was campaigning with McCain was she really protecting her Down's baby parading him on stage with hundreds of people clapping & screamimg? I mean honestly, was this the right thing to do to a Down's baby? My heart ached for what that baby emotions might of been or the fear he was experiencing, we have no idea of the trauma that baby might of been experiencing with the noise of the crowd....

Not to mention the camera flashes right in his face and the fact that he was passed around like a freaking holiday ham...

I didn't study him under a microscope, but I didn't notice any overt signs of distress (like crying) at any event.
Why do you assume that he would be more distressed at this function than a child without this 'disability'?

I'm a pretty out going person, but I would be distressed on stage with screaming, clapping & camera flashes going on in front of me & I'd imagine a normal child would be distressed as well.
Why do you assume that this is like a normal everyday thing that wouldn't affect a normal or handicapped child?
Hell speech class in high school was hard enough on me, this just isn't ordinary for everyday people.

Even though I don't agree with passing him around like a holiday ham or using him as a prop she would have gotten a TON of slack if she didn't parade the baby around either.. It was a damned if you do damned if you don't type thing..
Can you imagine the head lines on the gossip rags? "Palin baby nowhere to bee seen even own mother is ashamed" etc etc....
