whether there is a death panel or not... there is the required intervals of death talks to be preformed and who is to say that they won't make it impossible for a person to get treatment when they feel that they no longer are worthy of it?
The biggest thing is the government including our president are excluded from this coverage so that in itself send up a big red flag that this is not any good! If they feel it is not good enough for them then I know it is not any good for me. I do not trust the government and especially the way they are trying to shove this down our throats.I can't find a feedback link to post to my signature any more.

All In One Place! Deconstructing the Right Wing Lies on the Health Insurance Bill
The right's lies about the current health insurance proposals before Congress have rarely been compiled in such concise form before.
What follows is an article from the Right Wing blog ChronWatch:
http://www.chronwatch-america.com/ar...are/Page1.html
Page After Page of Reasons to Hate ObamaCare
By Alan Caruba
The problem is, there's something missing, such as context. See, the writer is expecting the reader to take everything as gospel, and agree that it's bad, without any sort of explanation. It's a list of all of the things that are wrong with the current state of the health care reform bill before Congress. If you'd like to follow along, feel free to click here to go to the bill itself. In fact, I would encourage you to look at it for yourself; it's an easy way to learn what's actually in it, without having to read through all of the legalese.
We're not called Please Cut the Crap for no reason. Below each item the right wing assures readers we're supposed to hate, I've inserted context, and explained why you really shouldn't hate it. Unless you should. All of my responses are italicized and printed in red, so that you can tell whose words are whose.
I'll warn you, this is a long one, but it's an important one, so get a glass of tea, print this out, and read it to everyone who spews one of these talking points, because this really does touch on pretty much all of the right's talking points. And now you'll be able to refute them. Isn't that cool?
Now, let's continue with the article.
Here are just a few very good reasons to hate ObamaCare:

.... and it's clear to everyone on the right that the future of the GOP lies in fear. And lies, come to think of it.
This week, President Obama’s health care overlord launched a taxpayer-funded initiative to recruit an Internet Snitch Brigade that will combat “disinformation about health insurance reform.” As the White House explained in a special online bulletin:
“These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to [email protected].”
At least one member of Congress has started asking questions. Texas GOP Sen. John Cornyn sent a letter to President Obama demanding that he disband the Internet Snitch Brigade immediately: “By requesting citizens send ‘fishy’ emails to the White House, it is inevitable that the names, email, addresses, IP addresses and private speech of U.S. citizens will be reported to the White House,” Sen. Cornyn wrote. “You should not be surprised that these actions taken by your White House staff raise the specter of a data collection program.”
Taxpayers have the right to know what government agencies and third parties the health care czar may share that data with – and why.
Take note: The White House Office of Health Care Reform is working in close quarters with an entirely separate Office of Health Reform created under the Department of Health and Human Services. That office is staffed with several Obama campaign operatives and former employees of the Center for American Progress, including special HHS assistant Michael Halle and HHS director Jeanne Lambrew, a former senior fellow at the Center for American Progress who worked on health policy in the Clinton Administration.
CAP is a lead organization in the Health Care Action Now coalition, the Astroturfed “grass-roots” lobbying group for Obama’s health care takeover legislation run out of 1825 K Street in Washington, D.C. with a $40 million budget. CAP is also the parent group of Think Progress, the far Left website leading the smear campaign against fiscal conservative activists protesting at congressional town halls.
Lawmakers must also dig far beyond the health care czar’s flagging operation. Last month, a Washington, D.C. citizen watchdog group filed suit to force the White House to disclose which health care lobbyists and executives it had met with this year to discuss the government health care takeover legislation. White House counsel Greg Craig refused to disclose which administration officials attended the meetings. But at least two of the industry visitors have ties to health care czar DeParle. William C. Weldon is chairman of Johnson & Johnson, which paid DeParle $7,500 for a recent speech. Wayne Smith is chief executive of Community Health Systems, which merged with Triad Hospitals – where DeParle served on the board of directors. DeParle’s options were converted to cash payments worth $1.05 million.
Despite Obama’s lip service to transparency, the public is in the dark about which assets DeParle has divested; how many times, if any, DeParle has recused herself from policy matters and meetings; and the exact nature of her conversations with health care executives. While White House press secretary Robert Gibbs lambastes the corporate health care ties of Republican opponents, he has shrugged off the corporate ties of the woman leading the Obamacare charge.
Alert the Internet Snitch Brigade: The fishiest odor is emanating from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Rep. Tsongas tries to explain why Congress is exempt from Obamacare.
Fails.
By Michelle Malkin • August 10, 2009
Herein lies the ultimate Achilles’ Heel of Obamacare. Watch as Democrat Rep. Niki Tsongas of Massachussetts attempts to explain why Congress is exempt from the government health care takeover mandates.
Transcript:CONSTITUENT: My question to you, Congresswoman Tsongas, is that if this is such a great plan, why did you opt out of it when you took the vote [loud applause, standing ovation]?
TSONGAS: People often say why don’t the American people have what those of us in Congress have. [Audience erupts] Let me explain what I have. Let me explain what I have. What I have is a tremendous array — you know, last year when I went to a discussion — what I have is a tremendous array of choices. And I made a choice based on what I was willing to pay for and what made sense in terms of coverage for me and my family. [Audience shouts out: "We want choice! We want choice!] This is essentially what we are creating for the American people. We are creating greater choice.
[Smattering of applause overwhelmed by boos ...]
Epic fail. The imperious “Do as I say, not as I do” ways of Washington cannot be packaged as choice-enhancing, no matter how hard Rep. Tsongas tries. Refresher from 5 key freedoms you’ll lose under Obamacare:
http://money.cnn.com/2009/07/24/news...obama.fortune/
In short, the Obama platform would mandate extremely full, expensive, and highly subsidized coverage — including a lot of benefits people would never pay for with their own money — but deliver it through a highly restrictive, HMO-style plan that will determine what care and tests you can and can’t have. It’s a revolution, all right, but in the wrong direction.
More than 150,000 have signed GOP Rep. John Fleming’s petition telling Congress to live under the health care mandates it forces on the rest of the country. http://www.fleming.house.gov/index.html
If the politicians can’t come up with a better answer than Tsongas (and they can’t), Obamacare is toast.
Imagine this :
QUESTION: My question to you, Congresswoman Tsongas, is that if this is such a great plan, why did you opt out of it when you took the vote?
ANSWER: All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others. …
Got an email this morning :
All throughout August, our members of Congress are back in town. Insurance companies and partisan attack groups are stirring up fear with false rumors about the President’s plan, and it’s extremely important that folks like you speak up now.
So we’ve cooked up an easy, powerful way for you to make a big impression: Office Visits for Health Reform.
All this week, OFA members like you will be stopping by local congressional offices to show our support for insurance reform. You can have a quick conversation with the local staff, tell your personal story, or even just drop off a customized flyer and say that reform matters to you.
We’ll provide everything you need: the address, phone number, and open hours for the office, information about how the health care crisis affects your state for you to drop off (with the option of adding your personal story), and a step-by-step guide for your visit.
Click here to find your representatives’ local offices.
As you’ve probably seen in the news, special interest attack groups are stirring up partisan mobs with lies about health reform, and it’s getting ugly. Across the country, members of Congress who support reform are being shouted down, physically assaulted, hung in effigy, and receiving death threats. We can’t let extremists hijack this debate, or confuse Congress about where the people stand.
Office Visits for Health Reform are our chance to show that the vast majority of American voters know that the cost of inaction is too high to bear, and strongly support passing health reform in 2009.
Don’t worry if you’ve never done anything like this before. The congressional staff is there to listen, and your opinion as a constituent matters a lot. And if you bring a friend, you’ll have more fun and make an even greater impact.
Click here to sign up for an Office Visit for Health Reform.
Wherever you live, these visits matter: Many representatives are pushing hard toward reform, and they are taking a lot of heat from special interests. They deserve our thanks and need our support to continue the fight. But those who are still putting insurance companies and partisan point-scoring ahead of their constituents must know that voters are watching — and that we expect better.
Earlier this week, the President wrote that “this is the moment our movement was built for” and asked us all to commit to join at least one event this month. This is the way to answer that call, and rise to the challenge of this moment together.
Thank you for going the extra mile when it matters the most,
Mitch

Teabaggers Bring Guns To Cohen Health Care Event
According to accounts from the Steve Cohen health care event in Memphis Tennessee, the teabaggers are showing up armed:
Steve Steffens at Left Wing Cracker: "Randy Wade is to be complimented as well; he arranged for security. There were actually idiots who brought guns (legally, it seems they had carry permits, but why did they feel they needed them?). Yes, you read that right, and Randy made them all check in with the Sheriff's Deputies on hand.
Gordon G via FDL Event Tracker: "Beginning early in the proceedings many attendees who were clearly against health insurance reform began trying to speak (and shout) out of turn, at times chanting in unison. These bullying attempts were contained by the rest of the crowd, who variously applauded speakers supporting reform, demanded that hecklers behave, and engaged thugs one-on-one to keep the peace."
Steve Ross at vibinc: After the introductions, a line of about 8 Doctors formed to talk about healthcare reform. Many expressed concern about the “public option”. Cohen made no attempts to disagree with them or anything, but allowed them each to talk for a few minutes about both the problems and their concerns. This was not scripted or pre-planned. I really think, in the end, it was an effective strategy to keep the opposition off their game, and some good points were raised, though they were difficult to hear and impossible to record due to all the mumbling and grumbling that was a constant at the event.
Tennessee Wisc Dem: The thing I wish Steve hadn’t done was ask any doctors present to speak first. Did he think doctors would be liberal? He thereby gave voice to every right-wing talking point you have heard. Several times he had to follow a doctor by saying "It’s not in the bill." I remember this especially with care for illegal aliens, but abortion and euthanasia both came up. The most prominent sign in the room was "don’t kill my GiGi." When Steve specifically said there was nothing in the bill to do this, and praised his family’s experience with hospice, he was roundly booed.
Here's what I don't understand -- Cohen is in a D+18 PVI district. If the rest of the country wants a public plan by a 76% margin, his district has to be considerably more in favor of one than that.
Why is he front loading the meeting with anti-public plan "authority figures" if he intends to hold the line for what he says he believes in? It's something I'd be doing if I knew I was going to take a bad vote.
If anyone has a report from a recess event, let us know in our event reporting tool.

NPR’s Misleading Report on Health Care Reform
BY Jacqueline Marcus
This morning, on my way home from the market, I was listening to NPR’s Morning Edition and was appalled by Debbie Elliott’s intentionally misleading report on the health care reform option. Click here to listen to this mild-mannered-FOXTV presentation. Question: Why choose Alabama for this report? Why aren’t the mainstream media reporters interviewing people who need an affordable option for health care or those who don’t have insurance at all? The interviews always focus on white, elderly, Republican-conservatives who are both insured and misinformed. It’s as if all those millions of people without health insurance conveniently disappeared from media coverage, including younger, middle-aged folks.
One expects at least a touch of ethics from NPR. First, Debbie Elliott presented the same old, white, southern Republican complaints, fears that are based on the corporate insurance companies' propaganda of lies. Never once did she CLARIFY fact from fiction.
An NPR reporter HAS AN ETHICAL DUTY to report the facts. It is not her job to leave listeners in a fog of confusion, which is exactly what she did. She should have at least ended the piece with the following facts:
1) Health care reform is an OPTION! No one is forcing anyone’s hand to change their insurance plans to a government plan. It is simply another option to choose from. PERIOD!
2) It is NOT a single-payer plan!!!! SHEESH! How many times must this be repeated?
3) It will not raise taxes on the middle-classes. There will be a slight raise for those who earn a million dollars a year.
Debbie Elliott deliberately ended the story with the question: "Who can we trust?" Well how about the reporter?!—isn’t it her job to separate fact from deceptions? Does she, herself, not know these simple facts? If not, then she is not qualified to be a journalist. One can only assume that NPR is also sold out to the big insurance companies as well. SHAME ON NPR!! Try interviewing all those millions of people who want to have an affordable option.

The reasons you highlighted is EXACTLY why they choose Alabama.

FYI, Randy Wade was in no position of authority to request anyone, let alone someone with a carry permit, to turn in their side arms. Believe me, that wasn't the only person there with some type of weapon. You ever been to downtown Memphis? Ever hear the fact that we are the 2nd most dangerous city in the nation?
A Note from the MOB
Filed under: General, Jim, Second Amendment, TN 9th District, Tea Party— Jim Tomasik at 8:13 am on Sunday, August 9, 2009 Edit This
Let me take slight issue with LeftWingCracker’s note that Randy Wade made them all check in with the Sheriff’s Deputies on hand.
Allowing all proper respect towards Randy Wade, the fact of the matter is that Mr. Wade is in no position (that I am aware) to make CCP holders do anything in regards to checking in with anyone. I think I remember Mr. Wade telling me a few weeks ago that he is an ex-deputy along with being an ex-Vietnam veteran. So I’m pretty sure he is now just a hired helper to Congressman Cohen who does not have that authority.
This may be why some carrying CCP holders that I saw ignored his request.
After seeing many of the videos of union thugs actually assaulting people, one would have to be a complete idiot to even ask why so many people brought their guns to a town hall meeting in one of the most dangerous cities in the country.
In the comments of one of his liberal buddies one fool actually asked who it was that would physically assault Congressman Blackburn at her event earlier this week.

Duh Cracker never made mention to this ******* that maliciously hitting someone with anything like that is a crime. If one person is willing to do that, what might the next liberal loon be willing to do?
This act of stupidity was a player in turning a small ‘FaceBook-get-together’ intended for maximum of 30 Blackburn supporters into a 230 person surge of support. It was large enough that she had to move it to the parking lot. Rany Wade’s counterpart in Blackburn’s Bartlett office, Mr. Scott Golden, was grinning ear to ear. Who could blame him.
Blackburn also had the free benefit of the fact that one of the Mid South Tea Party folks had a PA system in his vehicle to accommodate the parking lot situation. I guess he knew carrying that thing around with him 24/7 would pay off sooner or later. Go Dave!
I personally found myself in a rather awkward situation defending my Congresswoman’s right to be there. To say the least, I am absolutely NOT a fan of hers. I do think she has the right, just like Cohen, to assemble without fear of being assaulted. People who come to speak their mind in opposition is fine. Some folks did just that. I actually agreed with some of the thoughts they conveyed.
With all of that being said, let’s get back to Saturday morning.
I would like to add these thoughts:
Hats go off to Cohen for having the brains to know not to close the doors.
Hats go off to Cohen for having the brains not to stage a fake Town Hall meeting.
Hats go off to Cohen for having the brains not to have union thugs show up in union shirts. That was what we were looking to find. They would have been vastly outnumbered and most probably outgunned.
Unfortunately, I would guess that it is just a matter of time before one of the union thugs get themselves shot.
“When push comes to shove…”
But, you cannot tell someone that can LEGALLY carry a gun to turn it in when there is no LAW saying that they must. Another thing you should notice about Mr. Wade's "request", it was made to those that have carry permits, not to everyone. Why wouldn't he just say ANYONE with a firearm? Why just "those that have carry permits"?

TNGirl I really did love your post. It makes me realize just how lucky I am to live in a small town where I can still enjoy some of the simple things in life that are really wonderful. There are so many great things like drinking water from a well that doesn't have a chemical taste. Driving less than 5 minutes to buy some real farm fresh eggs. Usually there is fresh air to breath unless there is a forest fire in the mountains. Being able to see the stars at night.
Life is so much better without as much government.
I don't want government to grow any bigger than it is. I want control over my own medical and my own life.
I hear the ACORN side wanting free medical, who do they think pays for it. I'm sick and tired of the demands that the rest of us owe them a living. I'm always willing to help people out when I can but it is not my responsibility to encourage generations of freeloaders.
Everyone else works for a living and have to prove themselves before getting premonitions. Why should groups that have every advantage keep feeling that others owe them a living.Last edited by SurferGirl; 08-11-2009 at 09:38 AM. Reason: mostly to correct an error
