Why is it that people cannot stay on topic. This is not about Bush. Bush is leaving...wew're talking about Palin.

Thread is about Palin --> compare Palin's education ( VP candidate ) to Obama's education ( Presidential candidate ) --> praise for Obama's alma mater while mocking Palin's --> Compare Obama's alma mater ( Presidential candidate ) to Bush's alma mater ( Sitting President )

I have to ask ... it keeps being brought up that Obama is a "successful lawyer" - what type of law did he practice ? Did he pass the bar ? First time ? ( actually very few attorney's pass the Bar the first time.... you can have a Law Degree and if you don't pass the Bar you can not call yourself an Attorney ) My BIL is a lawyer, and after years of dealling with his associates - used to intern summers in his office - some of these people are very smart on paper ... but in day-to-day deallings, they couldn't pour water out of a boot without instructions printed on the heel.

It like the saying goes, "You can put lipstick on a community organizer, but it's still a community agitator" or something like that.

It just kills a few people to have to admit that Bush is also VERY WELL educated but I think I love this line the best....... By SPEEDYGIRL.....Bush got a good solid education. He may not have been the best student but he made a commitment to his university and stuck to it.
He is so much smarter then you want to admit & remember, his scores were also higher then john kerry's (oh yeah, BTW he was in VietNam if you didn't know!)

What's wrong with that comment? It wasn't an insult! So many people have commented about Bush not being the best student in the past and I stated that he may not have been at the top of his class but he was commited to his goal. WTH is wrong with that??? Hell, if that's an insult about being commited to a goal, please insult me like that. You certainly took that statement way out of context.
And what about John Kerry? What does he have to do with anything that I said? I don't recall talking about his grades. I full well know plenty about John Kerry and his service. He's been our state senator for years.
I don't know why you took offense to that statement. Could it be because I'm a known liberal and God forbid a liberal actually says something positive about a conservative. We all don't have ulterior motives. You bold type the "not the best student" as if that was what the topic was, lol. Kind of like what the MSM does... picks a statement out of context and runs with it.

True, but I'll give credit when credit's due. Maybe I'm an open minded liberal. Is there such a thing?? LOL

I thought so at first until I read this, lol.

If I took it the wrong way, then sorry to Wobbly. If not, my statement still stands, lol.
Edited to add: Don't tell anyone but I've voted Republican (Gasp!) before. I voted for Mitt Romney for gov of our state when he ran and if he was running for president I might be leaning that way.
