The only ones this bill truly protects are the finaincial enities that created the situation in the first place and the irresponsible people who chose not to read the contracts they were signing.
Some people, dont tend to think and it has nothing to do with their political affilitation.

Clinton signed it - so he gets all the credit if it works out but some of the blame for the way it actually works ?
GW Bush came into it 8 years after Clinotn signed it into law.... but he is equally culpable for the 8 years worth of damage it caused because he didn't repeal it. What would happen if he did ? Do you think all those jobs are coming back ? I honestly don't know what efffect repealling NAFTA would have at this late date - but he SHOULD be held responsible to try to puch the CAFTA.

If Clinton is at fault for 8 years, then so is Bush. Its not a "gray" area or a 40/60 or anything of the sort. Both politicial affiliations are involved. Both are to blame.
One other thing, where did I say that he would only get credit if it worked? Or even gave the impression. He wasnt the one who started it.

You condemn Bush because he failed to stop it 8 years later ... when we have no idea what - if any - effect that repealing it would have after that long.
Bush does deserve a big ol slpa upside the head for even considering CAFTA.
Now... this thread was about the bogus mortgage reform... that mainly protects the lenders and which I have been trying to bring to discussion for almost a year....
