apparently up here its common place for pregnant women to self medicate and use pot for morning sickness. Could not believe my OB had to tell me its very important not to use pot for morning sickness...I just laughed...but he swears a lot of women do it.

I would have had to say something too her. My step daughter smoked while pregnant. She actually finally went to the doctor for some help. I don't know what effects the medicine that you take to stop smoke has on a baby. I told her several times not to smoke. She always looked at me like I was crazy.

you can't take medicine for virtually anything while you are pregnant, but especially the stop-smoking-medications.

Pot for morning sickness is just odd to me. My midwife gave me Phenergan for morning sickness and if that didn't work she was going to give me Zofran.

I consider all drugs bad for the baby! Wether over the counter or prescribed.I havent known this person long so I didnt feel comfortable enough saying somthing. That is something her husband should be saying or her family.
She is going to have to live with any/all outcomes .

well that's good that you feel that way for yourself... thankfully we live in a free country.

If I were pregnant and I were smoking and someone said something or took away my cigarette, someone would be laying on the floor and it wouldn't be me.

As far as alcohol goes, you CAN drink while you are pregnant -- wine curbs BH contractions.
