i have gay friends and gay nephews and they respect my beliefs. they know i still love them anyway and will always be there for them.but they also know i dont agree with what they do.

I don't agree with a lot of things that people do, but that doesn't mean they don't deserve the same rights as me.
Even a drug dealer or an abuser have the right to get married. Just because something is the law, doesn't make it right nor fair. Back to women voting I guess. If you had lived back then, I'm sure you wouldn't have been very pleased with the laws.

no i wouldnt have but if it was the law i would have to accept it like it or not, the same way the gays should respect and accept the laws today.and yes some laws are stupid and not fair but most are made to protect us in some way. and to keep illegal stuff as low as possible, it is illegal for gays to get married and they should accept that.

It used to be illegal for women and black people to vote, so are you saying that no one should have done anything to change that also? Just accept it?
It was illegal for blacks to drink at the same fountians as whites, they should have just kept quiet and done nothing to change it? Just accept it?

your puting the black thing and the gay thing as the same the bible says it is wrong to be gay it is imoral it is also illegal for gays to marry. the bible never said that being black was wrong and the way blacks were treated was wrong and im glad that that was changed but that and the gay issue are two different things.

When did you chose to be heterosexual? I don't recall thinking "Hmmm... should I date a guy or a girl?" I just liked guys. I'd see a good looking guy and have a totally different reaction than if I see a good looking woman. I can appreciate Angelina Jolie's beauty. She's gorgeous. But I have absolutely no desire to kiss her. Now George Clooney is a whole other story and I'd be all over him.
My sister is gay. Sh's always been gay. She used to date guys back in high school and even into college but she did it because it was expected of her. She tells me now that kissing her boyfriends was close to how I would feel kissing Angelina Jolie. I could do it but it's not appealling and there would be no passion. Now she's with a wonderful woman and has been for years. You can see the happiness on her face and even after years with her she's still far more passionate with her girlfriend than she ever was with a boyfriend.
On the plus side for gays, if they have the ability to itemize they pay less in taxes than a married couple. My sister uses the money I save her and her grilfriend in taxes to pay for the lawyer she needs to draw up all the legal paperwork that I get simply because I said "I do" to a man.
