Perhaps a Christmas present is in order for yourself as in a Hotel room for her and a large bottle of Champaigne to celebrate her leaving. Im sorry you have to have something like this happen on Christmas. Remember its only for a day (Some people have relatives over for a week on the holidays)

What I would give to have some of my relatives come visit!!!!

It's the one time of year you have to suck it up and deal with family and most of the time it's just a wonderful experience. I hope that happens for you.

I beg to differ .. I am not sucking up crap just to please people .. family or not! If I can't stand you any other time of the year and I not faking it for one day. And I love my family .. just not some of the people my family is with! All I have to say on this matter.

Misty, you crack me up. I am sitting here laughing so hard over your comment.

hunnyboo, I feel for you hon. I know all too well about the MIL woes. It sure would have been nice if your DH had at least spoken with you about it before dropping the bomb on you like that.

I guess all you can do is try to make the best of it and be thankful that it is only for one night. Your SIL must have needed a break. Try not to let it completely ruin your holidays!

At least she is leaving for Chrsitmas day! Maybe you could stay busy in the kitchen Christmas eve day and night so you won't have to see her that much...or put her to work! Or, hang out in your bedroom...or even go shopping all day..???just avoid her as much as possible...computer with a lock on the door?

You are lucky trust me, its only for one day and one night...my MIL lives with us 365 days a year.

But I do feel for you and agree it totally sucks!!!
Try to have a Merry CHRISTmas anyways, if nothing else to spite them all...LOL.

Why didn't DH discuss this with you first before the plans were made?
DH knows better than to drop something like this on me without discussing it first.
That's the give and take part of being married.

Have fun watching those great Christmas movies.
    Go to church.

If all else fails.......drink heavily. Just teasin'!
