Re: C- Section Whine And Baby Pic :)
Congrats on that precious baby!
Hon, you just had major surgery, it's going to hurt some.
But, it should be within your tolerable range.
Don't eat gasy type of foods at time.
Drink plenty of water,
eat healthy foods (veggies, fruits, meat, milk, some potatoes/rice),
do some walking to get those bowels moving & the gas pains resolving.
Doesn't matter if you are big or small,
male or female,
after most abdominal surgeries,
you'll have some gas pains,
but they should be tolerable.
If you are hurting so much you can not sleep
or get comfortable,
call your doctor.
Keep us posted!
Hugs!

Re: C- Section Whine And Baby Pic :)
I am over 300 lbs had Sophie Jan 9 2004 by c-section and then a tubal at the same time. I had wicked gas for MONTHS. I was convinced I had other problems, but it did go away. The pain wasnt too bad, but I had my gall bladder out 16 years ago with the old fashioned surgery so I knew what to expect with the pulling muscles. I went to WalMart the day I was released from the hospital to get my pain meds. I had a prescription for Percocet and 800 mg Ibuprofin. I took 3 or 4 of the Percocets (flushed them a few months later) and still have plenty of Ibuprofin left. I did sleep in the recliner for a few weeks though.
The best thing you can do is to move, move, move. The more you do(gently) the better off you will be. Not only does it help the soreness, it also helps the gas work its way out.
And, he is a GORGEOUS baby. Congratulations!

Re: C- Section Whine And Baby Pic :)
i had both ends of the spectrum. severe pain with first section...third...no pain at all. different each time hun and yes being overweight does make it worse but there is nothing that can be done about that. cute bebet btw.

Re: C- Section Whine And Baby Pic :)
Ohhhh, what a cute boy!! He looks so alert and sweet!.... I had 2 C-sections and with the 1st I wouldn't move at all and had a miserable time, the second one I forced myself to get up and move, it was hard at first but it went so much better and faster, I was running around in a few days, the more you are active the faster you heal and move that gas out... I also used oil of peppermint and sucked on alot of peppermint candies & mints, it really helped with the gas.. I hope you feel better soon and Congrats on that beautiful baby boy!!
Why not learn to enjoy the little things - there are so many of them.

Re: C- Section Whine And Baby Pic :)
Beautiful baby!!!!!!!
I can say that I know just how you feel. All 3 of my boys were c-section. They are miserable. I have no feeling from my belly button to the cut. They said I may never get it back. The best way I found to recover faster is to take it slow, but not to slow. The more you move the more it hurts but the faster you will recover(just don't overdue it). This worked for me it doesn't mean it will work for you. This is a trying time for you, most people have there babies and within the next few days they are back to normal routine, where it takes us longer. So get rest and good luck and will pray for a speedy recovery for you.
CONGRATS ON YOU NEW ARRIVAL

Re: C- Section Whine And Baby Pic :)
The little baby is so cute! Congradulations, mama!
I was wondering the same thing............I am overweight and want to become a mother. I was concerned if there would be major worries attached. I am about 200 and am 5'6". I am even framed (hourglass) and my legs are my problem. Any suggestions my way for planning?
Also, Gwens29, if you need someone to talk to feel free to PM or email me anytime!

Re: C- Section Whine And Baby Pic :)
The best thing for the gas is to MOVE, and move a lot. It will help to work it out. Being overweight will cause more pain, because there is more of a gravitational pull on the incision. Find something to bind your stomach, use splinting as much as possible to move, but definitly move.
I never knew they actually pump gas into a person for abdominal surgery till I did my surgical rotation. No wonder it always hurts so bad after. I've had 3 sections, and the only thing that helped work the gas out, was movement. Your baby is adorable, congrats and hope you get to feeling better.
