mold isn't something to mess with. the above website has some good advice. just leave it alone until your landlord has it taken care of.

This could be why your DD has allergies. Watch out black mold can really make you sick!

    Re: Omg!

I just went thru the same thing this past summer. They tore out my whole bathroom. The builder had to put my son and myself up at a hotel. It took two weeks for them to finsih. The envirmental people had to come everyday and test. I could not come home until they gave the all clear.
I took my son to the doctor he has allergies too. The doctor said we were ok.
Good luck, this is no fun.
has your landlord responded yet. she needs to take care of this. make sure she gets enviromental people in to check also.
let me know if there is anything I can do.
I may live in Las Vegas, but I wish I were back in NY.

They just had something on Jane Pauley (I think) about mold the other day. Sometimes families have to be evacuated. Hazmat teams need to come in. Please talk to your local EPA or DEP immediately. It could be deadly.

Mold will make alergies and asthma much worse. Get your landlord out there to check it. His/Her insurance on the building should cover the repairs. If he doesn't make repairs, call the housing authority and move out. This is a sick building.

We have this problem also. Ours is all through the house. We told the landlord and he says, well yeah, I know but what can I do about it. My kids are sick all the friggin time. The baby has terrible upper resperatory problems, his Dr. told me we should move, well our house is being sold anyway so we will probably be moved out by the middle of Febuary, I can not stand to see my kids suffering from my landlord being a cheapo not wanting to get it fixed.
Sometimes it is hard to let go of a memory, especially if you remind yourself of it everyday.

you need to contact the health dept. and the housing authorities. it's illegal for the landlord to ignore this issue. i'd move out right away or stop paying rent until this problem is fixed. take photos, keep a copy of every letter you send him, keep a log of every phone conversation ect.

*laughing ironicly* y'know, bout 3 months ago, the neighbor above us? well their water heater blew up...yeah i am talking water bloody well everywhere!! so..there is mold in my ceilings, and i got told, basicly "so what? there are other apt's that are worse, deal with it or move"
this place is subsidised housing, ie HUD...i guess the rich get what they want and the rest of us get what we get. ah well..least we HAVE a decent enough roof over our heads, good food, and warm clean clothes..gotta take the blessins where we can eh?
GOOD LUCK with that!! Hope y'all feel better and get that mess dealt with!

they can't just say deal with or move. they either fix it or face fine after fine until they do. contact someone about this. who's going to pay your medical bills when you start getting sick or the roof caves in and falls on you and your family?
