Re: A new reality TV show featuring a Wiccan Priestess
The show starts off with the Alts deciding who will take which Guest for next roommates. Fiona and Avocado get into an arguement over who will get Eric, as they both feel that he needs some further pushing. Fiona didn't have the energy to fight, so let Avocado have him.
They decided that Loana would get no roommate and that she needed some time to herself. Though Fiona said that it wasn't punishment, Loana became quite upset over this and felt that something was wrong.
Fiona wanted another impromptu ritual with the Guests, but when presented with the idea, Loana was reluctant to join in. When the ceremony began, Loana decided not to join in. Fiona called it a 'gift-giving' ritual, but the actual performance of the ritual was not shown.
This was the last straw with Fiona. She was very disappointed that after all this time, Loana still would not openly take part in these rituals. The two of them got into a very teary fight.
The trial for this week was called 'The Gallows' and was based on the hangings during the Salem Witch trials. The theme was to honour those who have gone before, and the test was to see which of the Guests knew the most about those Guests who had already been evicted. Each Guest could make 3 wrong answers, and then they would be 'hung'. There were gallows set up, and a noose was placed around their neck. A trapdoor opened up beneath them and they fell into the pool beneath the platform. Nichole won and would be safe from this week's elimination.
The next event for the day was set up by Avocado. He asked the Guests to pick one other person in the house and find 2 excellent qualities in them. Then choose another person, and find 2 not-so-excellent qualities. During a raw-foods picnic, each person announced their findings and was to offer a gift to the other person. I'm not sure what this was supposed to accomplish, but seemed to just increase some tension between some of the Guests.
I don't think it came as a surprise to anyone that Loana was voted out this week, though Fiona did not chose her when she voted. Her after-show comments were positive and she said she had learned alot from her experiences on the show.
My Views
We're down to only 3 Guests now, but next week is the final episode. I was expecting one more episode before the final. After following this for so long, I am very interested to see who finally wins. I'm rooting for Nichole.
I thought Fiona's reaction to Loana after her refusal to join the ritual was a little over-dramatic. She clearly took it very personally and seemed to feel that she had expended a tremendous amount of energy to work with Loana who didn't give anything back. I don't think her reaction was justified at all.
I didn't like the trial this week. I thought the questions were rather dumb. I've watched all these shows and even taken notes, but there was no way I could remember who was Fiona's 3rd roommate, or who sat next to who during Art's suspension ritual. I thought the questions should have focused more on the qualities of the Guests themselves.
Clips from next week's episode showed all the former Guests back for a 'reunion' and I think some of them have some things to say. Can't wait!

Mad, Mad House: It’s a Mad, Mad Finale
http://www.elitestv.com/NewsPub/2004...7ff7f0db8.html
Well, this is it. This week was a 2hr double episode, so I've got a lot to report.
The opening of the show was the Alts discussing the last elimination ceremony. Several of the others were disappointed that Fiona didn't follow through with her feelings and vote Loana out. But she discussed it further, and defended her choice.
There was another field trip to give the Guests a break. Every packed up and went bowling. This odd group got more than a few stares, particularly Don (who wasn't too excited about the idea of bowling). Strangely enough, when he got the hang of the game, Don ended up winning the day. I found the whole scene to be hilarious.
The final trial was hosted by Art, and was based on his own suspension ritual from earlier in the show.
In this case, there was no piercing, but the Guests had to stand on a large, hanging hook. Whoever lasted the longest would win. Seems simple enough, but after 10 minutes, the Alts chained large rocks to the Guests to make it more difficult. Both Jamie and Nichole were focuses and quite steady, but Eric couldn't settle on one position and was a bit of an acrobat on the chain. He only lasted 26 minutes. But when he left, he got to place his rock on one of the others. No surprise that he chose Nichole. Even with the double weight, Nichole lasted a total of 1 hr 35 min. She then dropped and Jamie was the winner. The Alts were very impressed with the girls' stamina and focus.
At dinner, Eric spoke out against Nichole again. Don was pleased with his honesty, but TaShia really thought it was unnecessary and a bit of a low blow at this point.
The first elimination of this episode was quick and not too shocking. Eric was voted out. After he left, he didn't have anything bad to say about the Alts, but some very mean things about Nichole personally.
With only 2 Guests left, the last half of the finale began. There were no trials, but each Guest was put through 5 rites of passage (1 from each Alt). To save space, I won't go into each rite, but they all revolved around the Guests ability to focus, their stamina, and dedication to finishing the competition.
During the rites, there was an aside conversation between Fiona and TaShia that really shocked me. Fiona was adamant that Nichole had "weaved a spell" over the male Alts, because "they are ruled by their genitals". She felt that must be the only reason the men weren't voting for her during the eliminations.
The final dinner was a surprise for Nichole and Jamie, as all of the ex-Guests were there. Several of them were very bitter about their own experiences in the house and were pretty vocal about it, particularly Tim and Kelly. Kelly had quite a little speech, and more crying. The Alts made a point of discussing the prevalent Nichole-bashing that was such a big part of the Guests behaviour over the weeks. They made it clear that this is what caused the downfall of more than one Guest. Even Fiona had to declare how well Nichole had stood up to everything.
All the ex-Guests were asked who they would choose for the winner, and every person said Jamie except for Bonnie.
I was on the edge of my seat for the elimination ceremony, and it ended up coming down to Avocado's vote. I was rooting for Nichole, but it was not to be. Avocado put his necklace on her neck, and Jamie was declared the winner!
My Views
I think Eric really did himself in at dinner with his last attempt to poke holes in Nichole's character in front of the Alts. I wonder what the Alts will think once they see all the private footage of conversations, with Eric gloating about his scheming.
I was very disappointed to heard Fiona's opinion of the male Alts. I thought it was a very shallow and disrespectful thing to say. I think she was just upset because they didn't agree with her, and they were quick to vote for her clear favourite (Eric).
Though I had hoped Nichole would win, I can see how Jamie earned it. Nichole was a pretty open-minded person from the beginning, and Jamie really did make the biggest change in her life.
Overall, I really enjoyed the show. I think it was partly because I followed it closely from day 1. You really need to get to know the characters in these types of shows in order to enjoy the conflicts. I think they are planning a second season, and I will probably watch that too.
