Mad Mad House - Episode 7
The Guests were upset and angry about the change-up at last week's elimination. They didn't feel that it was up to them to make such choices and that the Alts shouldn't have placed them in such an awkward situation.

Noel tried not to make a big deal of how all his friends voted for him. Loana got into a heated discussion with the Alts about it, and complained that she now trusted no one. She even went so far as to say that it didn't matter anyway because they had already decided on Nichole for the winner. The Alts were not impressed with any of the Guest reactions.

Everyone took a break and went clothes shopping. The purpose was to help Noel get some style. He tried on some women's lingerie that really didn't cover all that much and then went streaking around on the sidewalk. All the Guests and even the Alts had a great laugh.

The trial this week was hosted again by Don, and was one a lot of people had been waiting for - blood drinking. Nichole sat out because she had won immunity last week, but since nobody was actually voted off, her protection carried over to this week. So both she and the winner of this trial would be safe.

Each Guest had 8 small glasses of blood and a large goblet. Don went around the group 4 times, and each Guest would choose someone else. That person had to add a glass of blood to their goblet. So depending on how everyone 'voted', some people had more blood to drink than others. In the end, the person who chugged their blood fastest would win. Both Eric and Noel had nearly full goblets, while Jamie and Loana had only half. The winner was Loana, though she spent some time in the bathroom afterwards.

During some conversation, TaShia was talking to Loana about Noel and Loana said that she knew Noel was still taking that cold medicine to help him sleep. TaShia was furious that Noel was lying to her, but Don saw Loana as a snitch. Later on, the talk during dinner turned to trust and it was obvious they were all talking about Noel (who knew Loana had talked about him). Eventually it just came out into the open, and Noel denied still using the medication. When confronted, Loana got stammery and backed out of her original statement. She looked foolish and it was obvious to everyone that she had deliberately acted against Noel.

Elimination was back to normal though both Loana and Nichole were out of the running for this week. If there was to be a tie, only Loana would get the breaking vote. There was nothing dramatic, and Noel was voted out. In the interview afterwards, he was pretty OK with it but had some insulting things to say about Loana.

My Views
The competition is in full-swing now. We're down to 4 Guests and they are all feeling the pressure. I was surprised at Loana's behaviour about Noel and the cold medicine. I just didn't think she had that kind of sneakiness in her. Of course, when her back was to the wall she couldn't follow through with her accusations. What little trust was left between the Guests is shot now, after her stunt.

Though she was immune this week, I think Loana's behaviour towards the Alts at the beginning of this week (with regards to last week's elimination) and her accusations of Noel will rule against her. I can see her being the next one out. Next week's trial is hosted by Fiona and is based on the hangings of the Witch Trials. I'm looking forward to seeing how that works out.

Mad Trial Spurs Suit

The March 18 episode of SCI FI Channel's original series Mad Mad House featured a "trial" that was the subject of a lawsuit filed last month by a non-profit group established to foster unity among the world's African-based religions. In the episode, self-styled "voodoo priestess" Ta'Shia Asanti ran the house's eight residents through a trial game that incorporated elements related to the practice of voodoo, including earth or soil, honey, feathers and animal organs.

The trial was mentioned in the federal lawsuit filed in February by the National African Religion Congress of Philadelphia against SCI FI, its parent company, Universal Studios, and the show's producers, arguing that the show misrepresents the voodoo religion and casts a bad light on genuine practitioners of voodoo and other African-based religions. The suit specifically singled out the "voodoo trial" as an example of a "portrayal [that] creates an extremely negative image of the Voodoo religion and plays upon a long history of sensationalism, misinformation and bias regarding the Voodoo religion," according to court documents. The suit seeks a court order requiring the producers of Mad Mad House to change their advertising and programming to eliminate all references to voodoo.

The suit argues that Asanti is actually a priestess of "Yemoja in the Ifa tradition," a faith of the Yoruba people of Africa, and not a true voodoo priestess. The lawsuit argues that producers initially approached Gro Mambo Angela Novanyon—who identifies herself as an "internationally recognized high priestess of the Voodoo religion" and a founder of NARC—to appear in Mad Mad House, but she declined—an account SCI FI disputes.

Asanti's official biography says that she has spent 10 years training and studying in the field of African spirituality and, as a Yoruba/Ifa priestess, has embraced the sacred tenets of voodoo and other African-based spiritual traditions.

A spokeswoman for the SCI FI Channel declined to comment on the lawsuit, which is pending. The episode in question airs again on March 23 at 10 p.m ET/PT. A new episode of Mad Mad House airs March 25 at 9 p.m.

I was so glad to see Lonna go! My guess for the winner would be Nichole. Now hopefully I can remember to watch it next week! lol
