I am not sure what special needs you are talking about, But why don't you see if he is quaified to get SSI

oh we are working on that as we speak, he was turned down once but EVERY social worker etc, type person i have talked to said apply again an again until you get it. he deeserves it. my son has ADHD, and some behavioural problems. his inteligence is too high to qualify for MR /DD services (ecept for the daycare and realy now he's too old for that), but his behaviour and ADHD make him unable to attend a mainstream school. he attends a sever beahvioural unit. and he is doing wonderfully, A's and B's ...i am so proud of him. my son needs to take medication daily or he's unmanagable. he also has pika, which is usualy only found with children with downs syndrome or so i have been told. and the issues i have with our home school system? well. i may now have a record because of them but in the long run, other disabled children were treated better because of the fuss an bother i made . *G* we will be ok. we will survive, and we will be happy. oh yeah! just ..today hit me hard with all of that stuff.
in any event. what doesn't kill me makes me(us) stronger!!

PS: there is talk amongst those of us with disabled children who attended that school system, of a class action lawsuit because of how we all were treated not jsut the kids. *EG*
