There was a story about this in the local paper here too.... they gave percentages as to what was what..... this is what it said...
    Nonhostile deaths.
The percentage of nonhostile deaths- those due to accidents or natural causes- has risen despite overall fewer deaths in U.S. military conflicts.
% of nonhostile deaths ...........total deaths
    WWII 28%.......405,399
    Korean War 8%......36,576
    Vietnam War 19%.....58,200
    Persian Gulf War 62%...382
Iraq War 31%.....496 ( so far as of Thursday )343 hostile 153 non hostile.
Afghanistan, non hostile deaths outnumbered those in battle: 70 of the 100 fatalities have been from nonhostile causes.
although this does not give exact stats on suicide mabey it will give some clue with the numbers givin.
