I dont let the word phase me. I grew up in the south and was raised by old folks (mom will be 80 and aunt is 87) so its a word that I'm used to. In all honesty, my friends and I use the word, ie "negro please" but as I said, its what I grew up with.

OK.....just what IS the politically correct word then? Some dont like black, some dont like African American, most dont like Negro....is there a better way? I mean we are ALL just PEOPLE and I am not prejudiced in any way but tell me what right????>?

Isn't that a terrible word!! I've heard African American boys call each other by that name.
It really irritates me (and I'm as white as you can get)

That is a VERY blanket assessment of somebody’s character. And who said they were angry?
Simply frustrated, that was my take on it. Pointing out that it is indeed well nigh impossible to please everybody all the time, especially when what is deemed PC is updated practically every other day.
Sometimes PC is highly overrated, especially when people use it as a weapon, or a guage in judging somebody’s character.
