My oldest had projectile vomiting for the first five months of his life. I was taking him to the ER and the pediatrician at least once a week. They tested him for a weak sphincter muscle above his stomach-- nothing, Tried all different types of formula- soy, Nutrimagen(ICK!), Goat, and so forth. FINALLY(FINALLY!) they tried him on low iron formula and BOOM, the vomiting stopped.

My second one was born on Dec 20 and I told the pediatrician aboout my oldests problems. He put Nick on added iron formula anyway. On Christmas Eve night, he started vomiting. I IMMEDIATLY took him off that formula and put him on low iron formula and had no more problems.

I hope you find out whats wrong with your son. Its so heart rending to have one sick and you cant figure out whats wrong with them.

i went thru so many problems with my little ones when they were little. so i know how youre feeling. i sure hope the little guy gets to feeling better. one piece of advice that i'd like to give you is dont let the doctors give you the runaround. when my daughter was born, she had all kinds of problems. they kept treating her for a dozen different things, pneumonia, asthmatic bronchitis, etc. had us do the pedialyte thing etc. they kept messing around til she had to be transferred to another hospital and it turned out to be her heart.
listen to your mommy instincts and keep those doctors in check too.lol keep us updated.

I am so sorry you are going through this. In February my daughter went through a week of unexplained high fevers and threw up a few times a day - she was 10 months at the time - finally at an exam the doctor immediately said fever with throwing up and no other signs of any illess is usually a UTI - which I know you have a son but it can still happen. After testing it was found my daughter has kidney reflux and that is what caused the infection - so if the fevers and throwing up continue that would be something they might want to look into.

My son (who his name is Aaron too) when he was a baby had the same thing, poor little guy had a high fever and would'nt go down. Come to find out he was allergic to all formulas including soy! So they ended up putting him on pediasure. I hope they can find out whats wrong with Your little Aaron and both Him and you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Thank you All for your wonderful support. I really am glad you all are always there for us. Thanx so much, I did take Aaron to the Pediatrician today, and they told us that he had acid reflux and gave him a prescription for zantac elixir. I am going to go get him a second oppinion if this does not help him. They also told us not to lay him down keep him elevated and to let him sleep in a carrier, car seat, or swing. So I will try this and hope Aaron feels better, poor thing. I did have a wonderful neighbor and a good friend come over today and take Aaron for a little while, so I could rest, but we all know how that goes, I ended up over her house sitting, lol
again thank you and I also hope that he gets well soon.

My daughter(who is 3) has dealt with Acid Reflux since she was 2 weeks old. We went through different brands of formula, until we found one that worked wonders.. It is called Alimentum. When she started taking that, the reflux wasn't as bad. When she was 3 months old we had to start adding a 1/2 tsp of the baby cereal in every bottle. Also, like they ped told you, keep him elevated. We bought one of the baby wedges to put under her crib.

My daughter still takes the zantac 4 times a day because hers still acts up. Also, something to look out for when he gets older is a sensitivty to milk products. My daughter has a hard time digesting anything that contains milk. There are days where she won't even have any milk products and she has to take a milk supplement.

I have been where you are, dealing with Acid reflux in an infant. I know I don't post here often and don't really know anyone here, but f you want to know more about what I tried, you can e-mail me at [email protected]

    (((((KAT)))))

I just found your post. I was going to tell you he sounded just like my Chris. Fever, and kept no formula down. Screamed bloody murder when I layed him down.
We found out he has a severe milk allergy and that is what caused his reflux.
He slept in his vibrator seat until he got to big for it. Then my husband rigged up his crib so it would be on the smallest slant.
He still has a severe allergy to 2% or above milk. It now even gives him attitude adjustments. He can only drink skim milk. Only frozen yogurt or such too. I am glad the Dr was able to help you. Aaron is going to be fine. Chris is now getting ready to turn 9. He about 5 feet tall and wears a MANs size 8 shoe.

{{{{Kat}}}} My neice has sort of the same deal, she kept running a fever and vomiting. But she would stop breathing, then vomit. It was a combination of the rotovirus, milk allergy, and other allergies. They told her to put a little cereal in the bottle, so the milk would be a bit thicker so the reflux wouldn't be so bad. That helped some, and sent her to the allergy specialist and the poor baby is about allergic to everything. Alot of the allergys were draining into her sinus and making her vomit and with the milk allergy was giving her a belly ache. I hope you find what is going on, I know its hard when a baby is sick and you have no controll cause you don't know whats wrong.

(((((KatinKy)}}}} (((((Aaron)))) Hugs for you both. It will all work out sweetie! Just hold em close and love him! My kids all had problems with throwing up too but those fevers would be scary.
