That stinks! I hope they can get it working right soon. Thanks for telling though because my DH had mentioned wanting to switch to UVerse. I'll stick with what I have.

We are having the same issues at work with Verizon. My boss wants to switch to them but never got a contract. My issue is that I don't think we should do business with a company who won't put everything down in writing. My issue is that while they may quote you a great price it may not be so great once you read the fine print. The company we are currently with did put their contract in writing.
I ended up speaking to "Verizon" because I am not entirely certain it is actually verizon we are dealing with. They agreed to mail a contract within 5-7 days. Friday we where on day 14 with no contract. I did receive a bill for equpitment we never received. They did ask for a secondary contact phone number in case of an emergency when we were closed so I gave them my old prepaid phone # which they now call 4-5 times a day; my number not the business. Yesterday they called again & I said no contract no deal so I was put "on hold" to speak to an "account manager". Problem is the girl that called me never put me on hold & I heard her talking to someone about us & me wanting a contract; not very nice things either.
Needless to say we won't be doing business with them.
Hope you get things resolved soon.

While I appreciate positive feedback about companies out there we may use or not use, I really appreciate hearing about the negative. Then I know who to avoid and why, although I do know that not everyone has the same experience with the same company.

I have several friends that have Uverse and love it. However, they found that in order to get anything done properly you must go to one of their stores not online and not on the phone go in person and make sure you get the persons name and info. Once you find them they are your contact and you should be problem free after that.

It sounds like you are dealing with a franchiser and I would avoid them like the plague. We use to have CenturyLink and had Brighthouse come in and they offered us a better price and much faster internet and no long distance charges for US and Puerto Rico. I called CenturyLink and they REFUSED to match the deal. CenturyLink rep told me "you will be calling and begging us to come back". Yeah right - they call, email and send sales people to my office every week to get our account back. They suddenly figured out they were losing lots of business and are now trying to get customers back - I just throw them out of the office and laugh.

You are probably at the end of the line from the headend. We had att dsl for internet and had the same issues. ATT had the nerve to say we were lucky to get it at all since we were the end of the line. I cannot get uverse even if I wanted it. Plus they have poor CS.

He did say last night on the phone that we were just about out of range but that the box they put on the outside should take care of that. But I wonder if he's right about that. Its not like we're out in the country somewhere we live right next door to a mall.

Can they work on the service without turning it off? He said he was going to turn it off but didn't. And he just left without telling us if he found or fixed the problem. We've had a couple different techs do that so I'm wondering if they can't find the problem so they just leave. The problem is when we call them to come out it starts working again and then later on in the day after they leave it stops working again so they can't find the problem.

Sandy...they called me again today. They wanted to put me into a 3 way conversation with my current phone company to unlock our phone numbers. I told him we can not proceed forward until I have a written contract which they have yet to provide. He told me he could get me a written contract but it would take 10-13 days but then again he could just fax it over to me. Before it was 3-5 days which has long since past.
He went on to say we had a verbal contract & that we had to pay a $500 early termination fee. I told him you represented yourself as an employee of Verizon when in fact you are not one therefore we don't have a contract with anyone. I told him I spoke to my personal attorney who informed me that since you never provided us with service or merchadise & we never had a meeting of the mind there is not a valid contract in place.
Oh did I mention they are calling me on my old cell phone # and not the business number? I got a call last night that our internet service should be active by this morning. Only problem is we don't have their modem & the phone line they were activating for our internet was our fax line.
