    Unhappy Talk About Scared!

It's midnight and Hubby is in the living room watching TV and I am in the bedroom struggling through Sparks' latest book. House is nice and peaceful with only the TV for any noise and then...BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! Somebody BANGS on my back door (which I am near)! The back light doesn't work so I yells out "who is it?" Maybe someone needed help but I sure wasn't opening the door to find out. Nothing. No one. Except me shaking in my boots.

Time passes, maybe 5 minutes and I was settling down then BLAM!! Now I am a pile of Jello. 911...cops come out, take a look-see, making sure there is no one out there. Of course found no one as I knew they wouldn't. Kids are always going through our yards here to get to the development behind us. Cop sez they'll drive around a bit and take a gander around the neighborhood. So far, so good. But boy was I scared!!!!! (Getting back door light fixed! ASAP!)

Geesh, is that still happening? That happened to me over 30 years ago. Must be the grandson of the twit.

Banging on the door as hard as they could. You bet every light in my house went on and calling the police. Only one person in the house beside me, 2 woman. At least you had your husband. No damage for us though.

That happened to me, when we lived in norfolk, va about 15 yrs. Ago. We were in military housing, my
husband was overseas. They came back about every 10 minutes pounding...i was scared, by then all my children
were awake, and they were terrified...i pulled myself together, called the police, and just couldn't
handle seeing my children quivering...i grabbed a baseball bat and ran outside...i found the 2 culprits in my
shed drinking alcohol...it was my next door neighbor's teenagers...one 16, one 17. Needless to say it was
a good thing i recognized them...then the police showed up, and i got the lecture! Lol their kids got grounded
for a week...whoohoo not!...i still think i shoulda slapped 'em!

    Smiles.

We had an elderly neighbor that someone kept doing that too. It really scared him a lot. I don't see what people get out of doing that.

My dh and ds would have a BALL with someone doing that to us! They'd sneak out onto the roof just above the back door with a big bucket of ice cold water and wait for them to come back. Then WHOOSH!! I think they LIVE for "exciting" stuff like that to happen. So far, luckily for me, nothing like that has happened, although we did have our house and dh's truck egged last summer and a couple years ago someone took our garbage bags from the curb and decided it would be funny to throw them at our house, breaking our storm door. Luckily dh is handy and was able to fix it. We slept right through that, even though our bedroom is right next to the front door.

I'd be getting the husband out from under the TV and making him sit by the back door!
