When I die (finish the sentence)

Hope I'm not being too morbid here.

I've already told dh when I die, I don't want to be buried in a fancy dress, I am most comfortable in jeans and sneakers -- I also said I'd prefer not to have any flowers, I'd rather them take up a collection and do something nice for people who are living like a senior citizen home or an orphanage. My Grandmother was 97 years old when she died, although we were all sad, we were too busy laughing remembering and celebrating her life to shed too many tears, I hope that's what my funeral would be like.

Explorer 4x4'r , Don't be a DNR yet. Wait and see what the situation is. You could be in with pneumonia, just 6 months from now but you don't want to be a DNR yet.

I want to be cremated. We all went out to dinner after my father's funeral. There were about 40 of us and we paid for it with our inheritance. That is what I would like, like Breezin's grandmother. My dh and I will be buried in the same plot because he wants the same thing. My father in law was buried whole and my mother in law was cremated and put on the same site with him. I don't care about a funeral. They can just have the party for closure if that is fine with them.

I will also be cremated with no service. A friend of mine passed and that is how his wife did it, but with a little service. I think there was only 5 of us and he was dumped in his favorite spot at the lake.

Same as Explorer; DNR, cremated & I'd rather not have a service but if having one would make DH and the kids feel better then that's okay. I won't know if they do or not, lol!

Hubby and I got our wills done a couple years ago and before we saw the lawyer I had a convo with my kids and they made it clear that they want to be able to say goodbye to me, so if they want a service, they can have one. My husband is in agreement. I won't be there so no matter to me. Whatever helps them to get through it is fine with me.

I want to be cremated, with whatever my kids need to do to help them grieve. When my dad was really sick, he said when he died to just dump his body on the side of the road. Obviously I wouldn't do that (even if I could've) but I knew he didn't want fancy so we cremated him and had no service. My kids and I were okay with that and I think that's what's most important.

sorry but i have to ask what is DNR???

my plans as told to my hubby and family, take whatever off of my body that can be used for anyone else to help them live. (obviously my liver wont work!) skin, eyes, ANYTHING that can be passed on to help anyone else. then they can donate my body to science or a local college, dump it or whatever, i wont need it anymore whatever makes them happy!

DNR=Do Not Resuscitate....Meaning no extraordinary measures should be taken to keep one alive.
