Thanks everyone, yes at times I feel ill never eat my favorite foods (shrimp, meat of any kind, crackers) but im working towards doing it. I am on a strict diet of mash/bake potato, spaghetti-o's, chicken soup, pudding....stuff like that....things I can easily mush on the top of my mouth if need be and easily rinse my mouth out afterwards. I have started to take my teeth out after eating each time and resting my gums for about half a hour then putting them back in. I was instructed by my dentist not to take them out overnight or for pro long periods because (he put it in simple terms for me) he said that the bone will get relaxed and begin to curl or just wear down without a lid for the dentures to hold on to if if I leave them out for to long at first. he said that is why a lot of people have problems with fitting when they finally do get theirs or when they go to put theirs back in after having them out for pro long periods of time. I dont know, I figure he is supposed to be the 'expert' on that aspect so, i go with him on that one. but he has all his origional teeth and has never smoked so i thought i would ask here about all this other.
thank you all so much for all the insight!!
