Anyone wear contacts?
Today I went in to the eye dr because I am waaay (like 10 yrs) overdue for a check up and I wanted to try contacts. I had never worn contacts before and wasnt sure they were right for me. Well let me tell you, I LOVE THEM. I got them in and out on the first try and they are SO comfortable. I am trying out the daily disposable ones. Why did I wait so long??????
What kind of contacts do you use and are they pricey?

I use the extended wear ones. I sleep in them, etc for 2 weeks then I toss them. I have regular ones and some greens too.

I've been wearing them since 1973 back when there was only one type which were hard. I now wear Acuvue2 Colors and Acuvue Oaysis. My insurance pays for a year's supply of one of those. For my others I pay around $150 a year which would be 6 boxes. My colored ones are green too.

I wear SofLens 38s from B&L and love them. They're very comfortable. I can wear one pair for up to 3 months if I remove them every night and keep them clean. They cost about $20 a box for three pairs.

I tend to wear my extended wear longer than I should.
I use Acuvue Advance w/ Hydroclear.
I have no idea what they cost because I have VSP insurance., but when I was un-insured, I'd always get my contacts from 1800contacts.
Your Eye doctor will give you samples for free, try a few, then decide which ones you like the best. My Eye doctor is awesome samples of everything & tons of free eye drops!
It took me about 13 yrs to find the perfect ones for me, because I have really dry eyes & hated my contacts., now I love them.
I remember when I first got them and had them in my eyes, stepped outside & was amazed at how I could see...like those green things on trees were actually leaves, that I could see. LOL!

Congrats to you on your new eye freedom!
I tried them last year for the first time and couldnt do it...I have a stigmatism in my left eye and that eye with contacts was always dry itchy and I could feel something in my eye every time I blinked, I tried out several different brands and they all did the same thing....but I tolerated it for 3 weeks because I loved the freedom from not wearing my glasses but it got to the point I couldnt handle it anymore.
I know someone on here suggested 39dollareyeglasses.com for glasses, I ordered a pair there(love em) and they also have contacts, not sure of their prices but worth checking out.

I first got glasses when I was 6 years old. My first pair of contacts were when I was 17. I totally felt the same way. I could actually see things after so long. You just never know what you are missing. My husband said he just couldn't imagine not being able to see things, as he has better than perfect vision. My vision was 20/hand if front of face. (Thats what they called it) I couldnt see anything more than that without my glasses/contacts. But I told him difference in glasses and contacts. Glasses are like watching an older tv , you can see it nice and and clear, and then you put in your contacts and its like putting a brand new plasma HD tv next to the old one. Colors seem brighter, everything just "pops". Driving at night is better.
I had laser surgery about 6 years ago and LOVE it. Its not as crisp as contacts, but I would do it over 1000 times compared to contacts or glasses.
