I'm not going to tell me whole story about the screwed up hyst (I have no idea why I'm even telling it.). After the hyst I was sent home 3 days later. While at home - I was sick as hell & come to find out my surgeon punctured my appendix. The morning I had to call 911, everything was in threes, and it felt like I was dying (which i was) I spend 2 weeks in ICU because of a f'in hyst. Everything that could possibly go wrong went wrong..I needed a blood transfusion, both lungs colapsed (I was on a vent for a week and a half). Hell, my docs don't even know how I survived - they pinch me each time I see them...lol
If you don't feel well - you really need to see a doctor. Anything can happen and it can happen quick...
YIKES!!! Well you have proved it, you have worse luck then me. How tragic. Makes you wonder how some Docs get their license. At least we know that eventually you were fine. WOW. I would be furious. I am glad it has a happy ending and thanks so much for sharing.

I am getting their Shelia. I think I am well on my way now. My fever hasn't been above 99 yesterday or so far today. My nurse will be here around noon. First thing this am, I rolled over a somehow pulled the vac from the wound. Needless to say it woke me up...lol. Kinda antsy waiting on her, I know I didn't "hurt" anything but it will be nice to have reassurance, kwim.
Thanks so much everyone its nice having this support here.

well when you are all healed and feeling better, Hal and I will come out your way for a visit one weekend. I am getting over and still fighting a sinus infection or bad head cold, have been sick since Thurs. I am still running a low grade fever. I missed 2 days of school, and went back yesterday even though I still feel crappy but today seem much better.

Poor Shelia, this has been a long winter on you. I will be glad when the weather is beautiful and you don't get whatever is going around. We would love for you all to come up. It will be a blast as always. I can't wait for you to see the new house. We will have to have the Clarks over as well. They have been to the new house, but not since we have moved in. I hope you get to feeling better and fast. HUGS!!!

Mary,
I've had to use a wound-vac several times over the years. I know they aren't fun at all. If you're still hurting or you think something is wrong please call the dr. or go to the e.r. I almost lost my right foot in a car accident after not taking care of my wound after a car wreck 10 years ago. I didn't like the machine, didn't think it would work, to bulky, clunky, couldn't go where I wanted to with the thing.
I did start using it after that scary night going to the e.r. I never again said no to using one.
I hope you're on the mend soon. I know they're a pain. Aggie last time I used one wanted to buy the damn thing since I had to use it so much for 6 months. I told him, NOT IN THIS HOUSE.

LOL... Someone, some where has a lil voodoo doll of me. It was much worse before it got better in ICU. Thankfully, I have the will to live and don't give up without a fight. I've learned after knocking on deaths door a few times, overlook a lot of what people say and do not let the things that don't matter bother you.
I really hope you get to feeling better.
Hotwheels the machines aren't bulky, they are fairly small & you can take them anywhete, they come with a case to put it in.

Best of luck with yours and a speedy recovery....

The one my father in law had was bad. He would have lost his leg if it wasnt for the wound vac. He was side swiped by a loaded gravel truck. A piece of metal from under the dash went thru his leg. He kept passing out on them so the paramedics jerked the metal out. It brought everything on the inside and pulled it out. It's a miracle that he still didnt loose his leg. He does still have trouble with that leg and it has been 2 years now.
