I was lucky, I didn't have to go through the perimenopause. I had a total hysterectomy that threw me into full blown menopause. Oh joy, that was just soooo much fun. And ladies, don't think that it is a quick thing, oh no, it goes on for years and years...lol. I still have night sweats after 10 yrs.

Hey, where's the comfort? Something tells me you guys would be the ones freaking out the mother-to-be at her baby shower with all your labor stories. lmao
I just hope I'm one of the lucky ones who doesn't go through those hot flashes. I'd hate to have to move into the frozen food section of my grocery store.

Hot flashes really suck, I have been getting them for the last 2 years now. I just can't wait for it all to be over and done with once and for all.
If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun.

Hot flashes, night sweats, chills, EXTREME BIOTCHINESS...........
I just wonder why my hubby stays around sometimes. (I do think he's glad to get out of the house to go to work though)

I had a hot flash once when I was sitting on the toilet. I got so sweaty I darned near fell off the seat. I was holding on to the counter with one hand, the edge of the tub with the other and cursing like a sailor.
Well, like a sailor with a hot flash, that is.

I went through medically induced menopause when I was 23 so that I could get pregnant later (long story) and OMG the hot flashes! And the psychosis!! I never EVER want to go through that hell again, I swear if I could have killd someone I would have. I remember going to Walmart in December and flipping out because I wanted an air conditioner and they didn't have any. Forget that it was December in MA, I was HOT.
I also go irrational. Even if someone else was completly in the right, didn't matter. I would still go off on a rampage. God it was horrible.
Nothing helpd BTW, just knowing it was to only last 6 months and then I could get pregnant was the only thing holding me together.

Hell labor was a piece of cake compared to this crap! I never screamed, did very little complaining during my labor and I gave birth to a 9'1 21 inch long son. YANKEEMARY was there so she can tell ya. But now I complain like hell, scream my head off and am a total B!TCH!!! Yeah Mary can attest to this also.
Labor to me was all in my head if you believe it's going to hurt it will! But I CAN NOT get past this crazy thing called menopause! Why lie or sugar coat the fact that life SUCKS the minute the dirty M word is mentioned. Sorry hope it is better for you but it really sucks for me

Going through menopause has been pretty Ok for me, just a couple of hot flashes, no real crabbiness but the worst has been insomnia but I have just given in to it and get up & clean or do a load of laundry or play on the computer, so I guess its not that bad, I am actually getting some work done..lol! PLUS, NO MORE PERIODS!!! LOVE THAT!!!
Why not learn to enjoy the little things - there are so many of them.

Don't you all think that men go through a sort of menopause too? I swear dh is. He's hot, then turns on all the fans. I'll get up and get a blanket and get comfy and then he's cold and turns off everything about the time I get just right. And his mood swings are terrible. I told him when I started the hot flashes he is NOT to say anything!!!!!!!!

I can tell you lots. Would you prefer to hear about that ***** Aunt Flo dropping in on you when you are not expecting her or about how she makes one more visit and leaves her good friend, the Fire Breathing Dragon? I don't think anyone would like to know about the clot that was big enough to push out a tampon, how when it hit the water, the water splashed up and washed my butte for me.
There is some things you can do to help yourself, especially during early menopause. There used to be a freebie here where you could get a months supply of some OTC medicine that worked pretty good. Sorry can't remember the name of the stuff now. There used to be a really good product that you could buy at places like GNC called Hot Flash that was the best OTC stuff I tried.
My hotflashes due to menopause are long gone now. I do still have them but they are because of my thyroid.
Missing Mommy and Daddy.
Missing my Lady,Dingo, Mitzi and Spud.
Missing my Aunt Ann.

Actually, they do. It is called Andropause and happens to them around the same age as menopause happens to us.
