Does anyone else like this song?

    What It's Like by Everlast
It give me a reality check sometimes, when I think I have it worse than others. I can relate to alot of this song even though I haven't lived it all.
What's your thinking on this song?

I wore that song out when it was new, still like it.
And that last verse is so true too.

I like "Ends" a lot too.

    "What It's Like"

We've all seen the man at the liquor store beggin' for your change
The hair on his face is dirty, dreadlocked and full of mange
He ask the man for what he could spare with shame in his eyes
Get a job you f*****' slob's all he replied

    [CHORUS]
God forbid you ever had to walk a mile in his shoes
'Cause then you really might know what it's like to sing the blues
Then you really might know what it's like [x4]

Mary got pregnant from a kid named Tom who said he was in love
He said don't worry about a thing baby doll I'm the man you've been dreamin' of
But three months later he said he won't date her or return her call
And she sweared g** d*** if I find that man I'm cuttin' off his balls
And then she heads for the clinic and she gets some static walkin' through the doors
They call her a killer, and they call her a sinner, and they call her a whore

    [CHORUS]
God forbid you ever had to walk a mile in her shoes
'Cause then you really might know what it's like to have to choose
Then you really might know what it's like [x4]
I've seen a rich man beg
I've seen a good man sin
I've seen a tough man cry
    I've seen a loser win
    And a sad man grin
I heard an honest man lie
I've seen the good side of bad
And the down side of up
    And everything between
    I licked the silver spoon
    Drank from the golden cup
    Smoked the finest green
I stroked the baddest dimes at least a couple of times
    Before I broke their heart
    You know where it ends
Yo, it usually depends on where you start

I knew this kid named Max
He used to get fat stacks out on the corner with drugs
He liked to hang out late at night
    Liked to get **** faced
    And keep pace with thugs
Until late one night there was a big gun fight
    Max lost his head
He pulled out his chrome .45
    Talked some ****
    And wound up dead
Now his wife and his kids are caught in the midst of all of his pain
You know it crumbles that way
At least that's what they say when you play the game

    [CHORUS]
God forbid you ever had to wake up to hear the news
'Cause then you really might know what it's like to have to lose
Then you really might know what it's like [x3]
    To have to lose...
The more you complain, the longer God makes you live.

I like the song, but let me tell you, none of the beggarts around here have an ounce of shame in their eyes when they are hitting you up for money. I had one lady that stopped us as we were driving down the street...waved us done. She said she was hungry and wanted some money to get something to eat. Well, I had just picked up our dinner and so I handed her a deli sandwich...she then ask for money in order to get her a soda. Good grief!

Last week we went to the store. As we were putting our groceries in the car an old lady comes up asking for money to buy some bread. I offered her a loaf of bread and then she ask for money to buy some meat to go on the bread!!! Once again, not an ounce of shame in their eyes.

Yes, I love that song. Actually think I'll put it on myspace .. thanks
They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them. Distance and time may separate us but friendship and memories won't.
