If you had a job where.....
you had lots of "down time" and had to find something to pass the time to keep from falling asleep, what would you do?

Is surfing the net an option? If so, I would spend my time on the computer. Or I would read a book...or I would crochet.
Never argue with an idiot. It will bring you down to his level and he’ll win because of experience.

I wish internet were an option! I am seriously considering adding a media net package to my cell phone. Then I would have to get a phone with a larger screen so that I could see it.

Clean something or look for ways to improve your job situation to the point where you actually have work to do.
Please don't think I am jumping on you because I'm not but there really aren't all that many jobs out there that have downtime.
What do you do?

Well when I work 3rd and I have my down time I bring in my laptop. If I have 30 mins of downtime on second shift I watch tv and if I have 15 to 30 minutes oh thats a bonus of downtime on 1st shift I read a book. I will also clean my workspace.

Lol, the only downtime I have at my job (11 pm to 7:30 am) is breaks and lunch 1/2 hour...and I use all those to go doze on the sofa in the reception area....or if by some crazy chance Im wide awake (rarely), ill take care of internet stuff.

My job involves being in a room and watching a couple of machines run. If the machines stop, then I have something to do. Otherwise, I have to occupy myself with whatever I can bring to work to do while the machines are working like they are supposed to. So yes, I have a lot of "downtime".
