Any one have a large outside trampoline?

I saw a large trampoline at Costco and it wasn't too expensive for a Christmas gift. For those of you who have one, how long can you expect it to hold up when it stays out summer and winter or do you take it down in the winter? What care or upkeep does it have if any? Or for 2 young children would you suggest the single small one for inside? Thanks.

I don't have one. I've seen Americas Funniest Home Videos enough to think they are very dangerous.
My kids are young though so maybe older kids can handle it. Best of luck!

we had a huge one for the kids 2 summers ago,ages-9,7,5,3,they loved it,I loved it,jumped my brains out, good excer too,it came with a net,not 1 time did the kids fall out of it,they can be harmful, but if your not rough housing to hard, you should be safe, never use it with out the netting, its a pain to put up,we live in a condo now and the kids miss it alot.

We have one. My kids love it. It is 14ft. It has the saftey net thing around it. This is the second summer we have had it. It is galvinized (sp?) steel so it doesn't rust. We take the net off for the winter so the weight of the snow doesn't rip it and shovel off the tarp if need be. We do have to sweep it once the leaves start falling. Other than that, it is just a pain in the butt to mow around. It is too heavy to move.

Just want to touch on what luvcub said. My kids too have never hurt themselves. None of their friends have either. Mine are 14, 13, & 6. DH & I jump on it too.

If the snow doesn't mess with the net, I am keeping mine on this winter. lol

One rule we have is that the little kids aren't allowed on with the teenage boys. They get going so hard sometimes, the little ones would be stomped in a second.

Make sure you pee first too, my mom got to laughing so hard she peed her pants. My kids have a field day laughing at her over that!

My neighbor has (had) one and they have strict rules as to how many kids can be on it at one time, ages of kids, adult needs to be home etc etc. It blew across the street a few wks ago during a storm and it was even anchored in the backyard. It ultimetly landed THRU someones front window. They had to pay for the window and they made the mistake of asking their homeowners insurance carrier if it was covered-it was but they told them if they put it back up that they wouldnt cover them anymore. So check with your homeowners insurance too.

I got my granddaughter one when she was 2, she is now 7, and it is still holding up, it is a big one with no net, We always made sure she jumped in the middle, and now her brother who is 2 jumps on it. They love it.

We had one when we were kids. The only thing I would suggest is call your homeowners insurance carrier first. They have been known to cancel policies in Florida over those and pool diving boards and pool slides.

We had one in Kentucky and we all LOVED it! No one was ever hurt, we didn't have it through a whole 4 seasons, so no help there. We had a net.

I would say its an excellent investment. The laws are here for a daycare home to have a trampoline it has to be in a separate fenced area, other wise we would so have one!
