Caller ID shows up on TV

Does anyone know how to do this or have you seen it anywhere? My sister in law has it. Her son is a computer techie and he set it up for her. When the phone rings if the tv is on the caller's name shows up. I would love to have that but he lives 1000 miles from me. Thanks.

my parents have it too. Its a service that came with their satellite. I am sure there are other ways to do it, but I have no clue lol

DirecTv has this feature. I dont have it set up but my Mom does and loves it.

Yep, we have Direct TV and our caller ID shows up on the TV. It's kind of nice, then you don't even have to get up if you don't want to talk to the person.

Optimum Online has it - so strange to be watching something and a familiar name pops up in blue on the screes - but then I have the triple play - phone, high speed & cable all together.

I just checked with our cable company , they don't offer it. I am so tempted to change to dish through the phone company. I wonder if I could get it through the phone company still using my cable but anyway I have been thinking about changing, only thing is my son has dish and says it isn't good when weather is bad, also daughter had it in NC and said same thing but I know some people have no problems with it

Well, this post earlier made me think that there used to be something similar to this for your computer. So I did a search and came up with a free program. Now when someone calls it comes on my computer screen. Also it has options to have different ring tones for different people, block calls, etc. My EXBF that started calling here at 5 this morning now has his own special message he hears when he calls. LOL
