Does anyone use private insurance?
My husband wants me to quit my job and just make money online. It's sweet of him. But I have a lot of back and neck problems and have to have my health insurance through my job. Does anyone use private insurance? Do you like it? Is it relialable? My husband has a great insurance through his job. But to pick me up would be $900 a month. Ouch.

dh is selfemployed so we use Blue Advantage, a PPO thru Blue Cross/Blue Shield, it runs us almost 1,200 a month for a family of five. The plans vary a lot from state to state though. We haven't had a problem w/them at all except they do tend to raise the rates ever year. Good luck.

She doesn't like the dr bills because what she is paying is very low. So she doesn't have great coverage. We pay more than that just for me and my husband's supplemental to medicare. So if she wants smaller dr bills she has to pay a whole lot more for monthly payment.
Figure out how much you are paying for insurance at work. Then decide how much the diff would be in that and the $900 you would have to pay on dh. insurance. It might be worth getting on his. It might work out to be about $600 and I doubt you would do much better than that with private ins.

Did you miss the part where I said her husband is an attorney?
Her choices of vacation: branson or Florida.
Mine: free camping (which we can't even afford)

No I didn't miss that. I am saying in a nice way that she is buying cheaper insurance than she should. I was trying to be nice and not say it in an uglier way. She can afford more and then wouldn't have to pay so much when they go to the dr. so then the griping wouldn't be so bad. Maybe she chooses Florida and Branson over insurance premiums. We all have to decide what is impt to us. Oh shut up Sondra, I've said enough. My husband was an attorney too. I know they don't pay attorney fees usually if they need one because a friend will do it for them complimentarily and they get thousands of other perks too. I did say my husband USED to be one before he had meningitis.
Yes I do understand what you are saying about your finances. But I don't know how much your employer is paying for your insurance. Private insurance isn't cheap. You might decide to quit when BCBS has another one of their open seasons which they have every so often. That is when my sister who had no insurance got hers. I was trying to be kind. Sorry
