I am still waiting. Friend's box does NOT even look remotely close to the $15 minimum mark.
I am so sorry for Friend.
Honestly, if you can't afford to spend the minimum (before postage), why in the hell are you in this swap???
It really isn't fair to the person you are sending to, nor is it fair to the rest of us that ARE following AT LEAST the minimum.
Friend -- I don't have a lot of funding, but if you send me your address, I will GLADLY send you a nice gift ... you certainly deserve more than 1 zip lock bag and an inkpen and other "misc" stuffs.
edited to add:
I have the stuff for my SP all taken care of until November -- but seriously, send me your address, I will send you something other than what appears to be freebies.

I TOTALLY Have to agree with you atprm...SAMPLES??? Who were they kidding! We get samples for F R E E! How can that even come close to $15!? I've read so many other swaps that go above and beyond the $15 (and its not hard to do) but even $15 you can get some pretty nice goodies and if you can't affored the S&H then do a Gift Card + the $0.42 stamp thats $15.42 I'm sure that can be covered. That swap partner sounds like they spent more in postage than what was in the box!
I'm soo sorry you box sucked friend6040 Hopefully your SP will relized it isn't fair that she probably gets really nice stuff and sends you Samples!!!
Sorry to vent but that just isn't fair!

Please.. this type of thing needs to be handled via pm... so as not to hurt anyones feelings. I had a issue also.. but DBD is an awesome swap keeper.. and she will handle it.. but tactfully....privately...
You never know another's situation...
I ain't from the south... but I got here as fast as I could!

I agree. I mean I have put some good samples in my Sp box. But only ones I thought they would enjoy or could use. I also add the $15 requirement.
Maybe they should have sent the matter to DBD, but when you are upset/mad you tend to do things without thinking.
I actually should be telling my Sp sorry, I have been tryin to get over a bad hump with my past pal. That I just haven't been able to get going really good yet. BUT I AM TRYIN!
Also when you get a disappointing box, or your pal doesn't say they got their box, it makes it hard on a person.
Its like that saying,
Do on to others as you would want others to do upon you.
or something like that....lol...

If you can't spend the $15 on the swap..you shouldn't join the swap. It's not fair to your partner. I know that things come up in life..and if that happens you contact DBD and drop out.
It's really hard on the person getting the swap..not to say anything...esp when they are being good to their secret pal. DBD does a great job...but sometimes, I'm sure she's in the middle and doesn't want to hurt someone's feelings. I do alot of swaps..and I"m the middle man...BUT sometimes, you just have to say something, perhaps in a nice tactful way. Perhaps something like, your pal, got their pkg but was kinda disappointed. ALSO....I think that when you do receive your swap, You should post as soon as you can. I know you can't always jump on the computer and post. BUT within a day or so..if you can, post so that your pal knows you got your package. Sometimes, perhaps the sender perhaps thinks they are sending enough.. .BUT I think most of the time..they have to know. That's why we all give out are "likes" list to go by.
So it's a tough situations on both ends...You really don't want to hurt the senders feelings...BUT yet, they need to know for future swaps that they need to do better. Maybe they really don't know. OK done now...just adding my thoughts!

I actually contacted Judy (friend6040) when I read what she got. You know me, I PM people to see if all is well,as most will not post negative remarks about goodies in this thread. I DO keep an eye out and read what people get (as do most of us in this swap) We all like to see what everyone is getting.
I do notice if someone doesn't post they recieved or liked items,I will PM them to see if all is ok. I try to be tactfull (yes, I know, for me that's not easy) I do not want anyone getting their feelings hurt, this swap IS to get to know one another and most cases it has worked out that way and SP's have become "friends" on the boards and off the boards. When I send out,I ask myself "would I be happy getting this"
To me a Secret Pal swap is NOT sending freebies we get and pass them on to our swap partner. Freebies/samples are fine as FILLERS. Unless we get a great freebie and it happens to be on our pals list.
I will always try to make a wrong right.
That being said..Judy you have a couple of boxes heading your way.
Sheila-yours is shipping today.
Meltodd- I'll let you know when I do.
Galean-yours was sent yesterday
Shelly-I agree

I received my sp package today, and instead of saying it was nice and ty, I am just going to be honest and say I am extremely disappointed.
I received:
a ziploc bag full of crabtree and evelyn samples -- shower cap, bar soap, mouthwash and shampoo (like you would get if you stayed in a hotel). All the liquid items were smashed and open, so everything in the bag was drenched.
2 shot glasses (not on my extensive wishlist) since I don't drink but maybe once a year at New Years, and then it's mixed drinks -- at a restaurant.
1 bracelet watch which is from ulta beauty, the box says red clutch watch but it's actually black. (also not on my extensive wishlist).
I really looked forward to getting my box this month -- as in less than 2 weeks it's my birthday and it was going to be like a surprise for myself, but instead I am just really disappointed.
2 days from now, tomorrow will be yesterday.

I know that the last sp round was my first time. I pretty much sucked as a sp but it wasn't because I was trying to be cheap, I just over thought it if that makes sense. This time, I am just having fun with it and have included items from my sp's list plus other items each time so far. I just try to make the box something that will bring a smile to my sp and make them feel special. That's how my sp last time and this time have made me feel when I get a box. Even if you were low on cash, you could still come up with creative ideas to make it special.
