    Question Stuff Peppers

I bought 20 peppers -I chopped five and cut the other 5 into strips, the rst I plan on stuffing them and put in the freezer. i normally stuff them with rice & ground meat (besides the seasoning or use Zatarains dirty rice mix or stove top dressing & add shrimp)looking for something different what do y'all stuff them with?

I did some the other day by doing a Mexican rice. I browned the ground beef, used brown Minute Rice added tomato soup, corn, green onions and taco seasoning..man were they good!

Something I thought different was poultry Italian sausage instead of ground beef. Mixed rice, egg, onion, a little spaghetti sauce, oregano with the finely chopped up sausage. Poured spaghetti sauce on top. At the end topped with mozzarella cheese.

    The Mexican one sounds good!

    Stuffed peppers

    3lb beef
    1 1/2 C bread crumbs
    3 eggs
    6 TB minced onion
    3 cloves garlic
    1 1/2 ts salt
    1/2 ts pepper
rice & shredded cheese, to taste

    Combine all ingredients.
Bell peppers, tops cut off & gutted

Stuff the peppers with the meat mixture. Place in crockpot. Cover with tomato sauce. Cook on low about 5 hours.

DELICIOUS~can also substitue peppers for Boiled cabbage & hold together with toothpicks.

I love golumpki (rolled up cabbage). I put some drained and a little rinsed kraut on the bottom. Yummy

Thanks all of these sound good-I stuffed 4 last nite-y'all may think I am nuts when I finished! I used left over rice from the red beans and I had 3 pieces of meatloaf(stuffed in the middle with spinach leaves and parmesan cheese) i the freezer that I cut up and put in the rice. It needed some liquid in it and I was tired of chopping seasonings so I took the juice from the left over chicken and red gravy(very thin gravy made mostly from chopped tomatoes) that we had after we ate the chicken out of it -the left over juice was then poured into the rice & meatloaf pot. I heated it together and mixed well -stuffed the peppers baked for about 1/2 hour--not one person complained they were looking for more ---go figure & probably will not be able to make them that good again!lol

will be trying theflute & DBackFan

thanks to all of you -I'm always looking for recipes so feel free to send any my way!!

Belive it or not but I have some taco seasoning packs & was thinking about putting it in the ground beef before I found the meatloaf & used that cause it was already browned and seasoned
