Froggman's "What Would You Do" Contest - Jan 08
Thanks for all the answers. I hope everybody had fun with this. I know I had fun reading all the comments.
Now on to the good stuff....
We have 4, yes 4 winners this time around. They are:
Atprm
diana circe
Yankeemary
quietvixsin
If you are a winner please PM me your mailing addy and I will send the cards your way.
Hi And Welcome to the contest.
I was too busy during the holidays to run a contest so here we go again.
Here are the rules.
Only one guess/attempt per user name. If you would like to let one of your kids take a shot at it that is fine, if you would like to talk it over with your whole family and come up with a great/wild idea with what to do with the prize that is fine also. But only one guess per user name.
The contest will end on Sun. Jan. 27th
I will then pick the one suggestion that I feel is the most original, caring, wild, off the way, etc...
I reserve the right to ask my family and friends to help pick a winner if I can’t decide.
If you win the prize I would like(if possible) the winner to take a picture of what you did with the prize and either post it on the board or email it to me. If you have a video camera maybe post it on You Tube for all to see.
OK - enough with the rules on with the contest.
Here is what is up for grabs this time - A padded envelope with about 100 sportscards inside
So - Here is the question
What Would You Do with the sportscards?
Would you keep them for yourself?
Would you give them to your kids?
Would you give them to your dog and let them tear them apart?
Tell me What Would You Do
.

I would take them to a dealer to be sold; then I would use the money to buy special education toys/tools to be used in my son's autism class.

I would get the sports cards clear insert pages, then insert the cards into the slots and then use the pages clear-taped together to wrap a birthday present up for one of my close friends, who collects sports cards of all kinds...I think they would make a "nice touch" wrapping paper.
2 days from now, tomorrow will be yesterday.

i would split them between my 8 yr old and the soon to be new baby

I used to work at a local sports card shop years ago. I have quite a few cards, mostly baseball, that I put into the plastic sheets that were made at the factory associated with the shop I worked for. These sheets were supposed to protect the cards for years without ruining them in any way. Well, over the years the sheets turned sticky and left grease marks on the cards. They also had the sheets in sizes to put into picture albums for pictures too. I have had so many wedding pictures ruined because of this. So as to what I'd do with the prize...I'd put them into a good old shoe box like my dad used to do. His still look like new!

I would give them to my sons so they could ooh and aah over them and talk about how they are going to save them until they grow up and are worth money, then watch as they systematically scatter them all over my house so my hubby can have a total fit about how they don't take care of anything they are given. I will also watch for cards that have gone through the washer so I can see how much of each card is left, and how many ended up in a big molded card ball when they have multiple cards in their pockets. It amuses me

My son would take them all to school and give out to his friends who's parents dont buy them. He loves to share. Im sure he would keep some of them also. And then im sure I would find them all over in his room and pick them up when i clean his room every time!!

I would give them to my oldest. I am assuming these aren't huge collectable cards.
He would then use thecards to make a headliner in his vehicle. Last year he rolled (3times) our car and totaled it. It had less then 40,000 miles on it but we had purchased it brand new with cash, soooo needless to say we didn't have full coverage. Well, to tide us over my dh bought a used 1995 Nissian Quest minivan, that had 297,000 miles on it. Long story short, we bought a new van eventually and now my oldest drives the old van or as he calls it his "love machine" LOL. <Dork> hehe. Well the liner had fallen and those cards would just look awesome in his love machine.
If these are huge collectable, then of course that changes everything and they will go in a box for safe keeping.
The more you complain, the longer God makes you live.

I would spread them out on the floor and have a game of who can pick up the most sports cards with their toes and drop them in a bucket in a certain amount of time, the kid with the most cards in their bucket gets to pick the next family activity that we do.

I would keep any that were for the Cardinals and give them to my boys or BIL.
Next any that are the Mets or Cubs we would burn in the fire place and roast marshmellows over them.
The rest we would put on the boys (and their friends) bike spokes so they can make that great noise like we used to do as kids.
Moms of boys work from son up to son down and then they go on line to escape
