no one has really answered the question of why they do it..........so your mad.....so what i know a lot of words that can work for the same thing..........as a society in a whole are we teaching our kids the right things? Is cussing cause we are mad right? Is cussing to make a point right? Does using the f word make people pay attention to you when you are mad? Or is the truth using the f word it makes you feel better because you "supposedly" just told someone off?

Probably cause I was raised on that word .. and I don't mean by my parents .. they didn't use it. That was like the first bad swear word you learned.

I say it simply cause I like to .. that is my reason. There are multiple reasons as to why you say the "f" word. There are multiple ways in which you can say the word or imply the word.

I can not figure a time when it would be ok for me to say the f word. And to tell you the truth the only time I ever come in contact with it is here. The people that I have as friends do not talk like that. My children does not talk like that around me. They respect me. They respect my beliefs even though they do not feel as strongly as I do.

Free speech is all well and good when you are talking about yourself, but what about my rights? I have the right to not read it but that will only work after I have all ready seen the offending word. I have no way of knowing that an offensive word is there until I have already seen it.

Should your right to free speech supercede my rights to not read offending words?

You know Adra, I totally respect my parents. They were never offended because I swore. And I didn't walk around swearing every other word. I never swore at them or called them bad words. I didn't go around saying the "f" word in front of my parents .. I would have to be super super mad and tried to not say it in front of them, but there were times when I did. I know it bothers my dad so I try to not say it in front of him .. but he doesn't love me any less in the event that I do. I am a 41 year old woman .. not a 14 year old child .. that is a difference.

And if I was with you I wouldn't swear in front of you because I know you don't like it. I would give you that respect. I am not that stupid (not implying you said I am stupid) to know when you don't swear. If I am hanging with my friends and our children aren't around and we swear .. so be it. That is our business and no body is being hurt by it. I don't talk loud and offensively to where others around me are bothered by what I am saying.

I have gotten many jokes that I wanted to post here but haven't cause I know some would take them offensively. I do respect others feelings.

I use that word at times, maybe sometimes a little too much. But that doesn't make me uneducated or dumb. I respect my parents as well as my Grandparents and rarely swear around them eventhough they do.

DH uses the F bomb like it's going to go out of style if he doesn't. But he is a sailor, so I guess that is his excuse. I have to be REALLY mad for me to use any curse words and it takes a lot to get me mad.

Not meaning any disrespect, but why shouldn't it? I understand you have a strong faith and I respect that, but if you are easily offended by some things shouldn't you avoid those things or should those things avoid you?

I do try to be respectful of others around me. Sometimes I fail miserably.
