I have used Terminix for termites but not for routine bug killing. I did use Sears once a year pest control before and it works great - but that was a while ago and don't remember the costs.

My company has a contract with Terminex - they come spray every month. He is very thorough. I see plenty of dead bugs laying around, which means it must work. I also see enough LIVE spiders, so I don't know about that (I hate spiders!)

Check internet & newspaper for coupons & specials. Sometimes a local company may be cheaper than a chain.

I feel for ya, I have gotten roaches after neighbors have sprayed, used to live in the country where the are more field mice & spiders than people, now in the city, still have mice, plus racoons, spiders, bugs, slugs, snakes, squarrels, birds... And most recently, a house across the street from me was vacant, and about a month later a dump truck comes along & cleans a bunch of stuff out. And then, later that night, coincidently, I see something run under my porch - later to see it was 3 RATS!!! Their territory got disturbed. Poisen took care of them thankfully!

Depending on how bad they are, and take into consideration of having kids & pets, you could bomb your house yourself. Would be cheaper, but a big pain in the butt. Have to cover everything, and there will be a dust on everything after. Also, turn off your pilot light, or your house could blow up.

    Good luck.

I have had a lot of experience with both companies. We once had some rental apartments, and we had regular contracts with them. They do a wonderful job. You can not match it yourself. We tried. They're expensive, but I think they're worth it.

If you have Bug Out Serivce in your area, they do a great job and have a $99 special going right now.

When I was an apt manager, we used Truely Nolan, but I don't think they are nationwaide. We've also used Orkin and they seemed to do a good job. After the spaying they put out a gel bait, that the bugs eat and take back to the nest. They sprayed once a year and re-applied the gel once every 3 months.
