Update on my colonoscopy
UPDATE:
the phospho-soda stuff was the worst.
The colonoscopy was done and no findings, all healthy. I return in 5 years.
However after they gave me Versed to put me out I went out quickly yet woke up twice that I recall...One was with the statement of finding something and I remember asking what was found.
Doc after I woke up said I was high strung and difficult to keep out... Duh! My dad had colon cancer, my dot had leukemia, and your shoving a tube with camera up my butt to look for polyps and r/o cancer. What was your first clue?
He was short on reporting findings as likely little could be said. But I wonder if under versed I said something he didn't like that I don't remember.
Hmmmmmmmmm.
Oh just another 5 years to go for the next one.

Re: Update on my colonoscopy
how much of the drink did you have to drink? My sister had a colonscopy once before and had to drink a gallon of something that was horrible, she needs to go back on June 1st but says she is going to cancel her appt. due to drinking the stuff again.

Re: Update on my colonoscopy
I am very glad to hear that they didn't find anything and all is well. I hear that stuff you have to drink is horrid!!!
My daughter had one several years ago and was talking about writing on her butt.... "Exit only" LOL but she didn't do it.

Re: Update on my colonoscopy
Different doctors use different things. Please tell your daughter not to cancel it. As long as she can get herself cleaned out she can use what she wants to. She doesn't have to tell him she changed laxatives. This last time I was given something to mix with gatorade and it had no taste. It is called glycolax, is a prescription and worked well with almost no cramping or that over full feeling. I don't think you said anything while under the influence of versed. Valium is more likely to do that to you. As for your doctor saying you are high strung and hard to put out. Don't believe that! It just inconvenienced him because you didn't lie there like a dead woman. There are other doctors , find another if this one was ugly. I had one last week. They had trouble putting me out and told me next time I will have to have anesthesia.
They go through my ileostomy. I am very overweight and I take pain pills almost daily. I have probably had more than 25 of these proceedures, first before I had my colon out when I had ulcerative colitis and now through the stoma because I have crohns. As the years pass and I get bigger and take more of all kinds of meds it has made it harder to put me out. With all the kind doctors out there, don't put up with a nasty one and one who doesn't tell you everything he found or everything you feel you need to know. It might take him 3 minutes more to tell you everything you want to know and he might think the questions a waste of his time but it is your health and peace of mind. I am an RN and I have worked with all kinds.

Please tell Ro not to cancel! .. It is very important .. my dad went after my mom died and they found 3 polyps, 1 which had cancer cells in it .. they removed all 3 and he goes annually now to get scoped and so far (fingers crossed) he's good and that has been 7 years now.
Kidzpa glad you are doing well and that they didn't find anything.

The stuff I took was an inconvenience but well worth the procedure. I had to have one done because my dad had colon cancer 6 years ago at the age of 63. He hardly ever went to the dr before then and could have prevented surgery and chemotherapy if he had gone on a regular basis. Dad really regrets not taking his health first until then.
I took and ounce and half of phospho-soda in a glass of gatorade one at 3pm and a second one in a glass of gatorade again at 9pm. Tasted nasty but I was able to take it and I chased it with regular old gatorade to kill the aftertaste.
