Thanks for the info DBackFan, I quit on April 2 this year, my birthday, but even with the patch, I only lasted 3 days smoke free, then ended up taking the patch off when I wanted a cig, and then put it back on for the rest of the week before giving up.

now I'm back to full on smoking, and had set my date for May 1st, and well, that didn't work either...
gonna go check out that book, thanks

Congrats to all of you that have quit. I've been thinking about it for a while. Just can't get myself to do it though. I need help! lol

Amazon has the book for $11.49 right now. And you can get free shipping of you spend over $25...

I have posted this many times before, but go to www.whyquit.com and surf around. Check out the "We Died Young" section .. burn those images into your brain. It may help to get you to quit. This website doesn't sugar coat anything!

    Re: Non-Smoking Update ...

I used to smoke two packs of cigarettes a day, so these figures are based on that.

    Quit Date: July 3, 1998

    Cigarettes not smoked: 129,118

    Money Saved: $19,367.70

I should have put money into savings every week equal to the money that I'd been spending on cigarettes prior to quitting.

Yes they did .. sad that they had to die the way they did.

    Re: Non-Smoking Update ...

Congrats to those who have quit. I made it 2 1/2 months, and was doing so well, then the flood came, the faster the water rose, the worse I got. A friend was here helping us get things out and put up high, I asked him for a cig and that was the end, of my not smoking. I know that I will try again, and that I can do it, it just has to be me making the decison, and not friends and family itching for me to do it.
