Question about Box Tops for education
I know I save these for my son and hand them into the schools for them to redeem for money for the school.
But my question is why do people buy and sale these?? I see these things going on Ebay for like $50-$60 I just don't get why people would buy these(something you get for free on the boxes) when it is supposed to be a program to help schools buy books and stuff for the students and the school. and I don't get why people sale them when they know school teachers are spending there own money to provide supplies for the students. If you don't have a student in school wouldn't you maybe just find a school near your home and donate them??
I understand selling points like My little pony points or Strawberry shortcake points but not Box Tops or Campbells soup labels. JMO.

Re: Question about Box Tops for education
Some schools have contests to see what class can raise the most box tops for education or cambells labels and the winning class gets a party or prizes etc. Our school does not do this but my nieces school does so everyone always gives their BTFE or LFE labels to my niece and none to my DS. Makes me mad but thats another story.
So anyway people buy them to help their kids get more.

Wouldn't it just be cheaper to pay for a party for the class then to buy labels? LOL

Re: Question about Box Tops for education
we do these for our school and the money that we get out of these goes to the kids to use ther bomber bucks and buy toys that we buy.....not just cheap toys either.....we get them boom boxes,cd's,movies, and alot of things....we buy these to help the school get the money out of them....they dont get a party for the most but i guess we could do that for them....our school is a small school and if my sister .n.law and i did not buy these then we would not have much money at all.

Also I guess it is cheaper for them to pay 10-15 cents each on ebay for them than have to go out and buy the products for $2, $3 or whatever each.
I sold a Campbell's Bonus label on ebay last year, the labels are only worth like 1 c. each to the school, and my sons school stopped saving them. It's no different than people selling them on this board.

Sometimes there are forms(I have found them in grocery stores, and McDonalds bags used to have them every once in a while) you attach 5 reg. labels and it is worth 100 labels. Or the grocery store here sometimes has promos for every 10 Campbell's products you buy you get a coupon printed on your receipt that is worth 250 labels.

Re: Question about Box Tops for education
Our school is having a classroom contest right now. The classroom that brings in the most boxtops and labels combined gets an ice cream party in the spring. Contest runs from Nov thru Feb. Go 2nd graders!

Re: Question about Box Tops for education
After reading this thread I strolled on over to ebay and cannot believe what some people are paying though!!! I saw one auction for 25 BTFE and the bid was already up to $2.24. The seller said item would ship usps but was charging $2.20!!!
Thats already $4.44 for $2.50 worth of BTFE. I think that is just crazy. I have traded mine on occasion...I don't have a school aged child so I will admit to trading mine for things I can use. I don't blame people for doing that.......I just don't understand why someone would pay twice what they are worth to the school? ]
