Re: Do you wrap stuff from Santa??

I have never wrapped any of the Santa gifts. Each Christmas Eve after my kids are in bed and I KNOW they are asleep I get out the things from Santa and put them in front of the tree. That way as soon as my kids get up and walk into the living room, the first thing they see are the things that Santa left for them.

Alot of the stuff is from Santa still even though Teenie is 12, some stuff is from me and DH - even my mom still puts from Santa on all her presents too.

I had never heard of Santa not wrapping presents until Sunday. My MIL was over for lunch and she told us that she was spending Eve and X-mas day w/ her other son, but get this. My SIL told my MIL that when it came time for kids (they are 5 and 3) to open their presents that my MIL was to disappear, that she and her husband wanted time alone w/ the kids. ANd that my SIL doesn't wrap the gifts from Santa. I never really gave it much thought about whether to wrap or not, so I really didn't have an opinion, but my MIL sure did. Whatever. But I do like the tradition that someone posted about Santa leaving a present on their bed. I think when the kids get older (They are 9 mos old now) I will do that hopefully I will remember that.

I always wrapped the gifts, and put bows and tags on them. Put who they were to on there and they were from Santa.

I always use the really big toys for "Santa" toys and I leave them unwrapped around the living room for the kids to find on Christmas morning.

Santa wraps here, my daughter demands it! Different paper she's never seen, with bows. My son is only one this year, so he could care less, but his sister said Santa had to wrap his, too.

Re: Do you wrap stuff from Santa??

We wrap everything. When I was little, EVERYTHING, came from Santa. There would be nothing under the tree until we woke up Christmas morning and there was everything nicely wrapped and under the tree. Even when we became teenagers my mom still waited until the middle of the night to put the gifts under the tree and told us "santa came". LOL

Now, I do that with my kids! But, there are presents under the tree from the kids to each other, and from us to the kids, etc but the majority of the gifts go under the tree after all the kids are fast asleep ! And they range in age from 9 to 16 now but I will continue to do that because I love the look on my childrens' faces when they wake up and see all the new gifts under the tree

Also, my kids still set their stockings out on Christmas eve for "Santa" to fill....hehe Although their "fillings" are different than mine were when I was little. As a child I always got an orange, apple, mixed nuts and chocolates in my stocking. Our kids get candy and trinkets and small toys in theirs.

Re: Do you wrap stuff from Santa??

Growing up Santa always left his presents unwraped. I remember the excitement at seeing everything . we always new which pile was whos .

I do the same thing for my kids. once their asleep i make 3 piles under the tree and its so wonderful in the morning to hear them run down the hall and then run back to my room. saying mommie santa came santa came. I know i'm gonna miss it when they get older. My 9 yr old already knows the truth i just hope my boys believe for awhile longer.

Talking about stockings and putting fruit in them that brings back a memory. we always got coloring books and crayons in our stockings maybe a small toy but i remember one year we got up my sister , brother and I and went to our stockings and to our shock and dismay what did we find. some apples and oranges. what was funny is that my mom forgot to buy stuff for stockings so she raided the fridge and just added fruit. LOL

We just put everything together and place the big stuff under the tree. The smaller things are put in a "Santa Sack" so that she can open it and pull everything out. Her stocking is put on the table beside the empty plate of cookies.
