I don't think so
Right before my husband left for work today, he somehow managed to knock the last roll of toilet paper into the toilet. I asked what I was supposed to do for toilet paper all day since I can't get to the store until he comes home from work. You know what he told me to do? Since it's so nice outside today, I should put the toilet paper out in the sun and it will dry out.
No thank you, kleenex will work just fine.

I'd put it out to dry, then save it for him!

They used the Sears catalog but then the pages were like toilet paper, very soft. Now it has the glossy paper.
They also used corn cobs. I don't know how or which part.
Maybe someone can explain that one.

Yep! Back in the days of the 'outhouse' there was always a Sears catalog on the 'bench'. Can you believe this, it was fun going to my aunts house and using the smelliest outhouse and using a catalog to wipe. I wouldn't do it today of course.

On trips we have taken with the kids to a village in Ohio ( Sauder Farms) they told us about using Sears catalogs back then... ouchers!
I agree with the other person who said set it out to dry then give it to him to use
You sound smarter when you keep your mouth shut.

Re: I don't think so
Like Janelle said, the catalog paper was different back then, thinner and softer. Not like todays thicker and color ink, etc. And I do wish the toilet paper holder was not on target to land in the toilet when it gets bumped off the holder. I close up the toilet when I change a roll so i doesn't happen to me.

The trick to it was to crumple the paper alot to soften it up even more, lol. Back in the 70's when there was paper shortages, and toilet paper was soooooo expensive, my DH said his family reverted back to magazines and such, because his family was dirt poor and couldn't afford TP.

Re: I don't think so
my grandmas family had an outhouse into the late 1960's, mom remembers going there and thinking she was cool using the outhouse haha
Every day I live I am more convinced that the waste of life lies in the love we have not given, the powers we have not used, the selfish prudence that will risk nothing and which, shirking pain, misses happiness as well.
