The fiance is a loser in my opinion, if nothing else stay with her, she is about to come into BIG BUCKS!!! haha.

Ummm ok I respect your opinions but here is mine.....

My DH and I arent married according to a piece of paper. We have been together for years and we do have a son together, we have a home and have a very happy life together. Wether you are married on a piece of paper or not, as long as the couple decide to live their life fully and happily I dont see whats wrong with it....JMPO

I saw somehting similar to this on like 48 Hours or similar show a few years back. Some lady had been inseminated and had twins. 1 was very clearly a white child (the couple was white) the other child was very clearly black. I can't remembered if they sued, but the kids (I think they were both boys) didn't care, just as most children don't, about what color the other was. They are brothers, plain and simple.....

i was waiting for the punchline the entire time i was reading this. what the heck!?!?! i cannot believe that someone could be so irresponsible. and the fiance', i know it is a shock to him, but PLEASE!! for him to be upset, which is how the article makes it sound, is insane! and i would sue and sue and sue until they gave me the history of the potential father. this whole situation is totally beyond my comprehension. for once, i hope she does sue and does get the money!

Because it would violate the mans privacy. I agree that it should be done, but if you think about it, would you want some stranger having your medical information without your permission? Unless the guy comes forward to give it I doubt they will get anything from the clinic or the clinic could be sued again.

So they arent telling the other men that they may be potential fathers? I bet there will be MORE lawsuits today if those other men saw her on GMA.

I dont think just a general medical history like-Paternal heart disease and Maternal cancer, yadda yadda yadda, without identifying information should be called an "invasion of privacy". To me, her privacy was invaded MUCH worse by getting sperm she wasnt supposed to.

Well... if this guys is off spittin out sperm for money Im sure he shouldnt care if they need his medical info... I mean... what could they do with it? Not like its his social security # or something....

And, if it was another man there with his wife to be inseminated with his sperm I would hope he didnt have something life threatening or else he would know he would be passing it onto his unborn child, once again making me wonder why he would then care if he didnt have something to hide.

So in my opinion they should let her have it... I mean like she said ... she didnt want his name so even if he did have something its not like she could tell everyone without his name... ya know?

    JUST MY OPINION

also, makes me wonder how many other times this has happened but the dr (not nessesarily the same dr, just in general) didnt speak up knowing his tuche would be in the grass

The possibilities are endless with what they could do with it. Would you want someone telling someone else your medical problems? It could range from something simple like him only having one testical or something (which could be embarassing for the guy to have others know) or it could be more complex than that. I mean in all fairness, yes I do think the woman should know for her childs sake. However, like I said, the possibilities are endless. There is a lot of sensitive information in a persons medical record. I am studying to be a nurse and we have had to go thru all this. I mean what if a husband had AIDS and did not want to tell his wife? In all fairness the wife should have the right to know about it, but LEGALLY I cannot tell his wife without his permission. It would be a HIPPA (HEALTH INSURANCE PORTABILITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY ACT) violation and I could lose my license for it. Therefore, again as much as I think she should know the clinic just does not have a right to tell anything about him without his permission because that would be a violation of his rights.

I totally see what you are saying but she said her self she didnt want his name so its not like she could say "Joe Blow has AIDS" or something... so even if she did tell someone no one would know who she was talking about since she didnt know his name herself. But I know the rules of the HIPPA law too.... Im just saying they could atleast tell her if the baby is at risk for something

Anyways... I just hope it all works out for the woman and her baby.
