Well I learn something new everyday. I have never heard of this before, but I did look around some and couldn't really find anything for menus.
Thought it sounded strange that the mess hall wouldn't be fixing or it wouldn't be catered, now I understand why. Good luck coming up with a menu and fixing the food.

my grandfather was in the mairines, and all i remeber him saing they ate was sh+t on a shingle. but he of course, was not an officer.
btw it is, i think, ham and gravy severd on toast.
