Re: endometricosis
I have endometriosis, i never took the progesterone, My doctor only prescribed 800 mil of Motrin to take 3 times a day for pain. Then i had minor surgery where the doctor went in and cleaned and burned the ends ( edometriosis is like spider webs of tissue that attach themselves on anything they can find) so my doctor remove what he could get. This was 9 years ago, he then told me it will be back ( it is ) and i will go for a hysterectomy next. The pains are 10 times worse then a periods pain, when i do have my period i bleed more then 7 days. I take motrin, plus a heating pad and i curl up in bed ready to die...lol It really hurts. I would recommend surgery like i had if she is young, it did prolong it for 9 years and everything was fine, but like my doctor said it will be back.
Good luck

Re: endometricosis
Have her get a second opinion. I don't approve of doctors who's advice includes "get pregnant". Progesterone is the hormone that your body produces in abundance when you are pregnant. When you add it to your body and you aren't pregnant, you may feel the effects of pregnancy. A little bit of this goes a very long way.
Different doctors will treat this differently but if he is mentioning surgery she may want a second opinion before she does anything else.
I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints.

Re: endometricosis
I have this right now and the pain is very very bad I am going in to have surgery maybe next month they have not called me back yet. My pain however is not that high it is lower and it hurts into my back. I bleed for several days 10 or more most of the time my doctor gave me pain pills and they don't even kill the pain but they do make it a little more liveable for my family LOL but not me! The med's that they have her on can cause some horried side effects and my doctor said he would not give them to me. There is the pill as well that can be taken but if she has all the children that she is going to have the surgery to have it all removed is the best and will cure it all the way. If she does want more children then by getting pregnant it will stop it for a while.
I speak my mind because it hurts to bite my tongue!
