Removing mud from light blue jeans?

I pre-treated the jeans, after falling down, when my jeans were wet and muddy. I used Tide, per directions, as a pre-treater. Mud didn't come out. Any options, or throw out the jeans and write them off? Does lemon juice loosen mud? I am not what you call a laundry diva. TY for all help.

you could try to use dawn dishwashing liquid...that works for alot of things...and if it doesn't since they are already ruined maybe you could try peroxide...its possible that the peroxide might take out the color...if all else fails you could cut them off and make shorts...good luck.

Found these tips on a google search:

Let dry. Remove excess with dull table knife or with a household brush, being careful not to damage fabric. Sponge with cold water. Launder in hottest water safe for fabric. If stain remains, sponge with rubbing alcohol. If acetate or non-colorfast fabric, dilute alcohol using 1 part alcohol to 2 parts water.

Mud Stains - Let dry, then brush off as much mud as possible; or rinse under running water and let soak overnight. For light stains, pre-treat with a paste of dry detergent and water, liquid detergent, or a liquid detergent booster; launder. Pre-treat heavy stains by presoaking with a laundry detergent, a product containing enzymes (like ERA), or a container of water with 1/4 cup each of ammonia and liquid detergent; launder. Red clay can be rubbed with a paste of vinegar and table salt. Leave for 30 minutes. Launder with hottest water safe for that fabric and bleach. Repeat if needed.

TY for all the help. I am going to try the rubbing alcohol. If it doesn't work, I'll do what YankeeMary said and just make shorts.

Get a tub of the hand cleaner/laundry treater from the Dollar General store,I believe it's called M-3.That stuff has worked miracles on some of the stains that we've had on our clothing. And it only cost a dollar.

This sounds wacky but whenever I had something that wouldn't come out as a last resort I use Carpet cleaner, like Resolve, and it usually works...
