    ? about CD-R's

I bought some cd-r's FAR but I'm wondering now if they are what I need.

    They are JEnsen 80 min/700mb CD-R's 48x

but they say computer use only. Does that mean if I record music on them, they will only play back on a computer?

I dont think so. I think it means you can only record them using a comp.

I think you should be okay. Whatever burning software you are using should have a function that allows you to make music Cds that can be played in regular Cd players.

Good. Glad you asked that question. Now I won't have to. While we're on the subject, I was trying to figure out yesterday if you use the same type of CD-Rs for music that you use for photographs. Because I could only find one kind. Would someone please tell me?
    Pardon my thread-crapping, btw.
If the mailman knew that my heart races when the UPS man comes by, would he still bring me freebies?

No, they say that just so you'll spend the extra however much it is to buy 'music cd-rs'... which is about the stupidest concept in the world. They are the SAME thing no matter what any salesman would tell you. As long as you convert your music when burning to the format that plays in cd players they'll play just fine! The only difference in cd-rs (to shell) is the amount of data they will hold and if you get 'regular' size cds or 'mini' cds. Unless you have a specific use for mini cds, I wouldn't buy those myself cause alot of devices won't read them.

One other 'difference', but more of a recommendation... don't buy the 100 spool 'great deal but no name' cheap cds. CompUSA sales them. Fryes sales them. I can't remember if Best Buy does, but alot of small family owned stores sale them too. They are that cheap because half of them won't born properly (or atleast, none of our 4 machines will burn them properly and we have over 1000 burned cds, so it's not a lack of knowledge in the area) and you end up spending just as much money as you would have to buy a 50 spool of a name brand.

Not quite true... older cars MAY NOT play back some CD's or CD-R's you burn.... it depends on the car stereo system, not the type or brand of discs you buy.
