Nice Newsletter I got from the pet rescue people
Hi janelle,
Care2 members have really helped where it counts this summer - especially by raising over $7,000 to help Care2's foster pets, Lucy, Dee Dee, Billie, Fred and Beauty. If you have visited the homepage recently, you've already read the good news - Beauty, Dee Dee, Fred, and Lucy's puppies have been adopted!! We now just need your help to find homes for our two moms, Lucy and Billie. It only takes a moment and makes such a difference!
Please read about our animal moms - two of the last remaining foster animals without a home! Then, warm your heart by reading about Beauty and Dee Dee's successful adoptions.
Moms in Need:
Raising a litter of puppies or kittens isn't easy! Mother dogs and cats get worn down and tired just like humans do. Our two foster moms, Lucy and Billie are now free from their adorable young and regaining their strength and zip, but they need your help. Please consider sponsoring Billie or Lucy so that they too can find their special "forever homes" and have a happy ending just like their children.
Lucy:
Now that Lucy's pups have been adopted, Lucy is ready for some TLC of her own. After this two-year-old pit bull mix was found abandoned in an empty lot with no food, water or shelter, her kind, gentle personality made it impossible for the ASPCA to turn her away. Help Lucy today!
Billie: Billie's five identical orange tabby boys and one animated tortoiseshell girl named Josephine have all been happily adopted! Now, Billie could use a loving home of her own! Sponsor her to keep her healthy and happy until the right “forever” guardian comes along. Help Billie here.
And now, thanks again for all your support! Read our success stories:
Beauty's Adopted - Twice!
A first-time dog parent originally adopted Beauty. However, her adoption coincided with numerous thunderstorms. Beauty had been very well insulated from the outside at the ASPCA, so we didn't know that Beauty is terrified of thunder. In her first two weeks at her new home, there were at least five major thunderstorms, during which Beauty whimpered and needed constant reassurance that she was okay. Her new pet parent, who had never had a dog, let alone dealt with a behavior issue, was overwhelmed and returned her to the ASPCA.
Of course, thanks to Care2 members' generous support, the ASPCA was able to take her back happily and began assessing what they could do to help her storm-phobia. Then, a wonderful family came in and instantly fell in love with Beauty! The family has had several dogs before, and is well prepared to care for Beauty and her phobia. They left the ASPCA with a very happy Beauty and volumes of information on how to deal with storm-phobias in dogs. Happy ending!
Dee Dee Finds a Home:
Dee Dee was adopted recently by a wonderful family who were looking for a young dog. This sweet girl, who was abandoned during the coldest month of the year along with two other dogs, will not have to worry about another thing for the rest of her days!
Thanks for your help!
