    baby sleep ideas please

    ok so the little one is seven months old now and still wakes quite often at night to nurse (bf). We are talking every 1, 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Sometimes I no more get her back down and she wakes again up to 3 times in one hour.

    I have tried to ignore her, but she won't go away!!! If I don't get up and nurse her immediately she will wake up for at least an hour usually 1 1/2 before going back to sleep, so it is easier and less frustrating to just nurse her for ten minutes than to entertain her for an hour.

    I have tried just rocking her, but that doesn't work either.

    She eats solids twice a day, nurses about every two still, goes to bed between nine and ten and sleeps until about 8 with the exception of the past week. I have tried both earlier and later bedtimes. Keeping the room warmer and cooler, changing the types of clothing she wears and still no luck....

    help
    Have a great day.

    Have you tried feeding her some cereal or baby food before you put her down to sleep?

    turn on a soft radio, sometime they think they are alone. the cereal will also help, maybe you should also give her some formula, it is a thicker substance and last much longer, you could do half breast milk and half formula. hope that helps. hang in there good luck

    oh I know what you are going through, that is why I started letting her sleep with me! So she could just turn over and nurse, then this past week, a nurse told me not to let her do that, said it can cause tooth decay. So I have to quit doing it. I finally got her to sleep in her crib, but she will only do it for half a night, so I still got another half to go! She wakes up and wants to be nursed, then stay with me, and we live in an apartment building, so it is hard to let her cry with out the neighbors saying something! I don't have any advice, right now I am trying to ween savannah from the breast, cause she started biting me today, she still doesn't have teeth yet, but they are starting to come through, plus she crys cause she is hungrey all the time when I nurse her. It is just hard though, cause it is a mother and child bond when ya nurse. I don't know, but good luck sweetie! I know what you are going through! {{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}

    she does eat about an hour before bedtime, doesn't help. she will not take a bottle/pacifier and the sippy cup is just a toy right now. magic - she has slept with me since about a month old because she would wake up when i would lay her in her crib, she is a lite sleeper and half the time you can see her eyes like she is watching you while asleep. as for weaning? lol she'll be twenty and knocking me down for a snack... :0
    Have a great day.

    LOL, Dragon! Savannah is the same way, she is such a lite sleeper and you can see her eyes too. And I tried weaning her over the weekend, and she was lifting my shirt just to get some, and screaming her head off for it. So today I told her no biting or you won't get it anymore. And she just looked at me and laughed and then did it again. She is such a stinker! LOL!

    baby sleep ideas

    im wondering, does she sleep alot in the day time? maybe cutting down on nap time would help. im on my third baby and have finally discovered the perfect routine. i noticed around 6 months that one short nap in the morning and one long afternoon nap helped alot. some kids just dont need as much nap time as others. also try keepin the baby up until 7 or 7:30 in the evening. i hope this helps. good luck

    Well Savannah doesn't even go to bed until 10:30pm or later, and then she doesn't get up until 9:00am or 10. She takes short naps about 2 times a day. Like 20-30 minutes long. So that is what I do, and she gets up once in the middle of the night and then up again at 6am to eat and then sleeps until 9 or so!

    Is she teething? Or maybe going thru a growth spurt? These can affect sleep. Also, if there is any unusual stress in the house, they feel it and wake more often. I found that cereal just before bedtime REALLY helped if it just a hunger thing....
