Thread: inmate sues over haircut

A former ***** County Jail inmate is suing over a haircut he claims jailer gave him against his will.

Dennis Ray Privette of **** City filed a federal lawsuit in ***** last week. Among other claims are that he suffered tremendous pain and loss of pride, saying jail employees held him down and cut his hair with tin snips last May.

Privette was serving time for a fourth offense of D-U-I and violating a habitual traffic offender order by riding an all-terrain vehicle on a public road and not wearing a helmet.

He names the county, the jail, the sheriff and jail employees as defendants.

The sheriff's department referred questions to the County Attorney today, who said he knew little about the lawsuit and declined to comment.
