Nanny is so proud! Come see what my "punkin" learned!
I am still shaking my head in amazement! My little granddaughter that will be 9 monthes on Easter, learned to whistle! LOL Now she is not consistent enough to control it. I play silly little games with her all day long and she can say several words, we work on a new one every 3 or 4 days. Well I've been whistling for her and she tries to immitate me and just winds up spitting everywhere. I always laugh at her. Well yesterday when she was trying to whistle sound started coming out and she would laugh and clap her hands. I thought to myself there is no way I'm gonna say anything to anybody as they will think I'm bonkers! A 9 month old whistling! Well, her mom took her home and called me after a while and said, " your granddaughter can whistle". I started laughing and told her I wasn't gonna say anything cuz nobody would believe me. She said she thought the same thing until she whistled the whole way home! LOL
This afternoon my DH was carrying her and he started yelling, "you're not gonna believe this but "punkin" is whistling!" It is hilarious!
Of course proud nanny had to share the latest trick! LOL

When she was 5 monthes old she could say Hi! & Nanny. We kinda ignored it as my daughter wanted her first words to be Momma (understandable). But one day in church she could see me but not get my attention and she yelled Nannnnnnnny! We couldn't ignore it anymore! LOL Then she said Momma at about 6 monthes. Now the words she can say that are easily understood by all are Nanny, Momma, Bubba (her uncle), Hi!, Bye-Bye, Dog, duck, Yah!!!! (when she claps her hands) Yum yum (when she wants to eat) Daddy not Da-Da, Daddy (when we show her pictures of him) and her newest word is Baby! But she is not really into physical things. She just got crawling down good. (She's been kind of scooting for a month) and she can but won't pull herself up. I don't know if it is true but I heard that if they are really advanced physically then they don't talk etc as soon. She has a friend that is 11 days younger and all he says is Da-Da.

That is awesome! I never learned to whistle until I was like 9 LOL
Every day I live I am more convinced that the waste of life lies in the love we have not given, the powers we have not used, the selfish prudence that will risk nothing and which, shirking pain, misses happiness as well.

That's Sweet I didn't even know they could learn how to at that age
She's ahead of me I still can't whistle LOL 1 of my Sisters learned how to whistle and I learned how to snap and for some reason neither one of us can do the other.

I can't whistle either but my grandson was also 9 mo. when he started whistling and winking! We took him to see relatives that hadn't seen him yet and they were flabbergasted. Kept saying babies can't do that.

Ok you gave me a new idea! We need to learn to wink! LOL
My family teases me because I used to raise border collies and I train them to do all sorts of tricks at early ages. They keep telling me my "punkin pie" is not a border collie! They will die if I teach her to wink as one of my dogs winks! LOL
