How would you go about finding a sibling that was givin up for adoption years ago?
I found out a few months ago from my sister who didnt know that I had no idea that we have an older brother. We have a brother {Mike} that is 7 years older then me but the other brother is 3 years older then him. Mike has NO idea about this, and my mother has no idea that I know. She only told my little sister a few years ago when she was going through something really hard on her {sister}.
Well ever since I found out about this my mother has pretty much stopped talking to me {dont know why} but I really wanna know more about this older brother. That is a whole family and such that we are missing out on, at least that is the way I feel. I know Kim wants to find him but I am not sure about anyone else.
How would I go about finding him? what Info do I need? I know I need to find out where he was born and what date and if there was a name givin to him by my mother, I doubt it becase my grandmother forced my mother to give him up as soon as he was born.
Also I am not sure how to bring it up to the family. I can talk to my sis about it, and see if she can get the info I need to try and find him.
Thanks

If you could find out the date of birth & state that can get you off to a start. Some states offer non-identifying information to siblings when both have sent in a notarized form.If you need a hand with finding resources I'd be glad to try & help.I've been searching for my own brother for 20 years so I can relate with your wanting to know.

When I was 17 my friend and I found my father, he never knew about my mother being preg, but that is a lot diffrent then this that is why I was wanting a little info from you guys.
Thank you Witchy, I am pretty sure he was born in upstate NY and it had to have been about 35 years ago. That is just from guessing, Like I said I am going to have to get a hold of my little sister and see what if anything she knows and what she can find out.
I hope you find your brother Witchy.

Just a thought but if you know his name you might try searching the unclaimed funds from the states, lots of them lists names and addresses, I think its 1 in 4 Americans have money in unclaimed funds and lots of times the person is still at that address thats listed they either did not cash a check or just did not respond to a request from a bank or something like that, I'm sure you have checked there but sometimes when you've got so much to search through something like this can be overlooked if I can help let me know you too ttistin.
