Britney Spears comes home to help fight cancer

Louisiana native Britney Spears was back on home turf to rally against cancer.

21 year old Spears spoke to hundreds of fans for no more than 30 seconds at the cancer awareness rally, appearing on behalf of her charitable organization, the Britney Spears Foundation.

"This is something my heart has to do," she said.

Before Spears arrived, attendees received cancer-related fliers, information and giveaways. Brandon Nall, 13, said he planned to use the fliers "to stick them in people's faces ... I'll give them to the people I don't like."

"There's a potential that whatever kids take home, their parents will read it," said Ruth Kirby, director of Summit's emergency room. "We're just very happy to have the opportunity to appeal to all the moms and dads."

More than a thousand people lined up outside of Summitt Hospital today to catch a glimpse of Louisiana's own, Britney Spears. Today Spears was speaking out on the importance of cancer research. She says it's a topic that hits way too close to home. Her aunt had cancer, as well as several other relatives on her mom's side.

The young music idol was the guest speaker at Summitt Hospital's first ever "Rally Against Cancer." And, this crowd pleaser pledged to do 'her part' to make a difference, while challenging her fans of all ages to do the same.

This was HUGELY promoted here - It was "sponsored" by her "Foundation", and SHE was going to make a PERSONAL APPEARANCE...
A friend took her daughter - they waited for THREE HOURS for the RPITA to show. She took the mike, made a canned three sentence speechette and left. My friends daughter cried all the way home.

I am curious though was does RPITA mean?

The other day on the radio they were interviewing Christina Aguilera (who I don't really like either) and she was talking about Justin Timberlakes song Cry Me a River (which supposedly about Britney cheating on him). Anyway, Christina was talking about how great she thought that song was and I thought it was funny since she and Brattney are such rivals!

Oh man, you'd have thought that if it was *that* important to her heart and hit so close to home for her emotionally that she would have given a better speech than that. How pathetic. Why should I support her organization in the fight for cancer if she is going to be such and uppity b!tch about the whole thing. Good thing I could never stand spears in the first place.

Gee-mayber her last name should be daggers??? That is for those who got their hearts torn out over her pathetic behaviour.

As for Britney, she is a has been. Justin dumped her, she is dating skanky men (and they are dumping her too). She hasn't had a hit in how long??

I heard some really good gossip about her on the radio the other day. I know I shouldn't listen to gossip, but it was just so good.

Wait till she is older and her body ages with time and her looks fade then what will Bratteny do?
With out that she is nothing! Her voice is like minnie mouse sucking helium!
She was linked to Fred Durst?? SP?? or was this the other one that looks like Dee Snyder from Twisted Sister? Christina?

She was linked with Fred Durst and then just recently Colin Farrell (from Dare Devil). Supposedly after Justin dumped her he went after Christina who is Britney's rival.

Supposedly she spent the better part of a night in Colin Farrell's hotel room. She no sooner left and he ordered room service and the waitress spent the rest of the night!

If that is true, that would be such an insult. Either she stayed there with him but didn't do the deed or she just wasn't enough for him. Either way it looks bad.
