Excellent idea. I'm sending them all a BIG thank you and I'm going to try to put a package together for the lot of them!

Good Deal! They do so appreciate it all. I currently have two soldiers that I send packages to and have four other email buddies as well. They all appreciate anything from home whether it is snacks, a letter, a card, magazines or newspapers.

Thank you very much for this post!!!
I have been wanting to send something, but can't commit to a monthly mailing.DH has been out of work for 4 months and unemployment only goes so far.But..we got our income tax back & I decided it had been weighing on my mind long enough.
The Dollar Tree had the clear plastic storage containers (16 quart)for $1.00 & using that to pack stuff in & then put in mailing box.
They also had alot of stuff on the list to send like Doritoes/Cheetoes in a can,Nacho Cheese sauce in plastic squeeze bottle, foot powder, ect. for those that need to watch what they spend.
Now..deciding which one to send it to.

    Thank you again
    I don't feel tardy

    Talking THANK YOU!

You honestly have no idea how much this means to me! I am a ...well read my signature... and we are trying to help the troops. This hits home because my Dad was a Marine and had been searching for some to write.

    Thank YOU!

I am going to check with a group at my curch to see if they would be interested in sending a care package to these guys. Do you think that if we packaged it up in one box and sent it in care of Capt. Joeseph P Riley that he would be able to give each of them their package? The reason I ask is because I would like it if they fot them at the same time so that no one would feel left out.

Yeah, just put it in care of the Captain and write a note that you stick inside to say it is for all the guys. Everyone I have talked to and/or supported share anyways especially with those that do not receive much or nothing at all. The leaders always share!

Does anyone know this is legit? I am not saying it isn't, but I know after the anthrax scare, Dr. Abby stopped the "any soldier" mailing for fear of someone with less than honorable intentions mailing stuff.

I will be glad to send stuff if I know it will actually get through. I have enough magazines around the house to choke a horse (what with all the free subscriptions). I just wasn't sure sure how receiving food items from people they don't personally know will be taken. My husband is a Marine recruiter and the local girl scouts are going to send stuff to some of his guys who are leaving - I know the guys/girls will appreciate the stuff. I just wanted to make sure they would/could get it.

    Thanks,
    Libby

I wondered the same thing when I first saw the post. I am not sure if it is legit or not. If anyone knows I would like to know.
