    HELP!! How do you get rid of Fruit Flies?

    I have a bunch of fruit flies in the house from a banana that was left in a hanging basket.I just noticed it and when I went to get the banana to throw it out WOOSH>>> therewas a big cloud of friut flies.Now how do i get rid of them?Any ideas?

    Give it a day or so, they'll disappear if there is no fruit, veggies etc. laying out to attract them. That's what I've always done. Or I suppose you could chase those little varmits with a can of Raid...

    Thanks Jaybird.I was thinking maybe if I left out a jar with sugar water maybe they would be attracted to it and dive in and drown.Or do you think that would attact more?

    Actually, I don't know if the sugar would attract them. I've had problems with them and bananas & peaches, but I've left lemonade or KoolAid out on the counter for a day or so and never saw one around that. Go figger.

    I've heard that if you put some water in a white bowl and add a few drops of dish soap,that the flies will fall in.I don't think you are supposed to mix it up though.Just put in a few drops and leave it.Not sure if it works,but I guess it's worth a try.

    not really sure we have a couple flying around here no fruit only banana peppers and chili peppers in a bowl? i did open the kitchen window the other night and one flew between the window and screen so i closed the window. so i supose it flew through the screen. still got one hanin around and it is driving me crazy.we have had the a/c on for two weeks no windows open where do they come from?
    i spread myself so thin, how can i be so fat?
